Some of the issues I have been dealing with concern my relationship with my mother when she was alive. She had a very rough childhood, her father abused her mother and all three girls were pretty much neglected because their parents worked all the time. Anyway, she never seemed to have time for me or my problems. They were always too trivial. Being the emotional one in the family I cried a lot too. Always told to buck up and get past it. Finally when she died I did and that is when I started having problems. Problem was, I knew she loved, just didn't know how to show it. I know, looking back now, that she was very jealous of me.
Yes, we are all beautiful! Some times that is the hardest thing to convince yourself of though. I admire Holly and those like her who were able to take the missteps of their parents and turn them in something positive. I really wish I hadn't been so sensitive back then, maybe I wouldn't be dealing with these now.

If you each let The SISTERHOOD OF THIEVES know the websites for your wares, you might have some ORDERS to DELIVER on the SHIP!
Hmmm--$$$ for DODs or excursions.....

Forgive me if I am too punchy here, but it took me 2 days to get home from Florida. My Ft Myers flight was delayed because of freezing rain in Atlanta and I missed my connecting flight to SLC, the last one of the night. Everyone on the flight missed thier connections and there was a lot of yelling at the flight attendants and even more yelling at the gate agents. I went to the crown room, and no joke, burst into tears. I wanted to go home so bad! I think because I was the first person not to yell, they were so nice! There was no need for yelling, it is an act of god. Anyway, they forced me on to the first flight out at six fifty, it was overbooked and had a waitlist of over 40. Then they gave me a free hotel night and a tshirt to sleep in. My only question is. why doesn't anyone sell saline solution? Seriously, no one with contacts has ever been layed over in an airport?
Anyway, the morning flight was delay another 1 1/2 in the morning while we were sitting on the ground with no heat, due to mechanical problems. I wore the same yicky clothes for 2 days and my contact is glued to my eyeball and I wanted to kiss the ground when I finally got to my car.
what a day...

Final payment was due on the 10th. If they don't pay the rooms are given to someone else. From a 12 GTY it is quite likely that you will get upgraded to an 11 at least. Only difference in an 11 and a 12 is location. There are very few 12s. You might get lucky and get a 10 or 9, but likely an 11.
That has been such a lot to deal with and you are doing so well, not just with the weight loss but in yourself!Good friday morning all. I have successfully pawned off my daughter on a playdate! YEAH! She had one set up, but the child called this morning and is sick. So she called another friend and has one and is sitting her telling me to get ready.
For all the weight issues, heres my story...
Up until my 20's I couldn't keep weight on. BUT my sister was a rolly poly. So while growing up my sister took the brunt of my moms dissatisfaction. In turn, she now has serious food issues. Watches every bite, went so far as to have a tummy tuck in her early 20's. When she was pregnant only gained 15 pounds. I believed that she had an undiagnosed eating disorder in her 20's but my mom gave me crap, saying she looked good and leave it alone. Thats how much my mom doesn't care about how you loose, just that your thin. Now my mother was a huge girl growing up and then when she was 18 she decided to start losing and has been on weight watchers the balance of her life. Well, back to me, in my 20's the weight started coming on. By the time I got pregnant at 28 I let it all go and ate like a happy camper and put on 65 pounds! I have struggled through my 30's to take it off. BUT during that 10 years, my mother has always made comments and just like someones gma earlier, even when I lost weight, she said the SAME THING, you can tell cause I can see your wrinkles. I rarely speak with my mom even though she lives around the corner from my work. Because the first thing out of her mouth is not Hi, or nice to see you , but either have you lost weight or you need to lose weight. Like Holly and many others, I realized I am an adult and as long as I am happy with the way I look, I should not put myself or my daughter in situations where someone else has such a signifigant impact on my self esteem. So, I go over at holidays, but when my siblings are there too...as my protective shield! I agree that as adults we should put our older family in place and say it's none of their concern and mind their business. As women(and men) we know it's hard to loose once you put it on, but WE need to do it our own way at our own pace. Since I stopped seeing my mom regularly, I have lost almost 40lbs...coincidence...I think not!
So stay strong, and if you decide to lose DO IT FOR YOU! not for anyone else.
have a great friday!
Steph
I went for the mask fitting yesterday, and did walk away w/ my cpap machine. I'm going to MD this weekend (and still need to buy the distilled water and surge protector) so will not start w/ it until probably Tuesday. Kind of cute...it even came w/ it's own carrying bag.
However, when the Magic goes into dry dock on 9/6/08 they will be converting the cat 12's to all sleep 4, so that won't automatically be the case any more. At least that's what I was told by the DCL Sales Desk on the ship when I was booking a Cat 12 GTY for 12/27/08.
Shirley does beautiful and amazing work.
You know Angie... I'm wondering what it's going to be like... I think in a way it's going to be a relief to have her out of my life - we've NEVER gotten along... too many lies told... & my steps... I met them once. None of us even went to the wedding (I got invited on Thursday...they got married on Sunday... 5 states away...) (guilt invite, I imagine...)
I only wish for a prince as good as yours...![]()
I'm pretty sure that it's going to be around 8 am on 5/10...![]()
Don't we all!!! We went to Coldwater today and tried things on.. and then I got the loving speech from mother dear... "you know....you really need to lose some weight..." At least she didn't pat my tummy when she said that...![]()

Carol - we continue to have more & more in common.![]()
Oh, it all has to be ordered. If the internet connection cooperated, I could place the order while onboard, towards the end of the cruise, and people would have jewelry arriving when they get home! But it only takes about a week for the jewelry to arrive, so it would probably be best to place the order the day I get home so it would arrive shortly after people arrive home. Will give something to look forward to!
BUT.....I would love downsizing like you did! That's why I used to always love moving to a new apartment when I was younger, because I'd always de-clutter every time.![]()
Hi Monica, I went yesterday for my follow up with my neurologist and even though I still need my machine, my episodes per hour have dropped form 135 to 22. Major big difference. He said that at some point I will be able to be completely off the cpap, I that I just need to continue to drop the weight. I go back in 6 months.
Have a wonderful time on your trip north.![]()
My Mom only sees me on the Webcam so I make sure all she sees is my face!!!![]()

I am blessed to have a mama that is supportive of whatever I am or want to do. Had issues with my dad, but she even helps me with that.
She is 82 now and I just don't know what we all will do when she starts failing and passes. She and DrHug get along famously too. In fact, I have jokingly over the years said "Hey! She's MY mom, why does she like YOU better?"

What a lovely woman. We would all be so well balanced if all our mom's had been like her!
Great news Venetia. Well done.![]()
