Are there days at these two parks that are slower than others during the 1st week of May? We've never been to them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! We are not staying on-site.

the first week of May is a great time to go. I'd avoid a friday, saturday, or sunday, and get to the parks early.

Yes, any day during the week will be good, because the kids are in school, and the parents are working.

First week of May is still quiet. Kids get out of school in the middle of May, and things pick up in June.

You won't have any problems. Early May is the calm before the storm.

I'm so happy to hear this! I'll be in Florida from May 2nd to 9th and was hoping to avoid the parks. Even Sundy is a busy park day? My friends and I had planned to go Sunday the 7th to IoA...bad call?

weekends are busier because like WDW, UO attracts a large amount of locals. the only reason I suggest skipping a friday is either the 1st or 2nd week of May the school field trips start hiting IOA. 5 high schools and I in the same park is no good for my soon to be high blood pressure.

Great to hear that...we were originally planning a trip for APril because I figured that early May would be busy, but a friend assured me that the first week of May is a perfect time to go. We're gonna go Tue-Sat, so I'm assuming that if I was going to hit a Universal park on Friday, probably best if I hit UO, and hit Islands midweek?

My family and I are going to the parks from April 30th to May 7th. I planned it this way because there is a bash weekend going on for High School seniors on April 28th and 29th, definately don't want to be there for that!

Here's the info right from UO's website

Universal's Grad Bash
April 28 & 29

On April 28 & 29, both Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure theme parks are being set aside just for graduating high school seniors to experience intense thrills, extreme excitement & unforgettable fun.

We are planning to go to IOA on Sat. the 6th of May and USO on Monday the 8th. I know weekends are busier, but I am hoping that since it is early May and we don't do the coasters, we'll be ok.

When DH and I go we always go on a Sunday, it's really never that bad. Get there early and you should be able to get quite a bit done before it gets busy.
