Maximum capacity on July 4th? Park closure?

Does DL typically close on July 4th due to maximum capacity? DH and DD will be there this week and they are concerned if they cross over to DCA they may get shut out when trying to go back to DL in the afternoon or evening on the holiday.

Please share your experiences with this.

well, it has been five years since the last 4 day weekend, and I am sure that in 2013 the rumor was out that avoid July 4th, because in 2014, no one showed up....you know...to avoid the crowd.....then word got out that ....hey the 4th is okay.....so the levels have increased to ....and it skipped over Sunday and went straight to Monday....no problems last year....so I am thinking....Monday, the 3rd takes off the pressure and there should be no closure on the 4th....because hey....we celebrated it on the 3rd at Disneyland.....but every day is a new day.....to make crowd history......well....do you feel lucky?

I don't remember reading of one. And with the 4th being Tues the odds should be slightly more in their favor of that not happening...

If I remember correctly the crowds have reported to have been light. Maybe people would rather be at family BBQ's or hometown parades, that type of thing.

But, to add on to this thread...how shall the day's following the 4th of July look? That's what I'd love to know

Curious about the 8th and on....

the 4th created its own visiting storm....by being the fourth......that is how did you choose the 8th as your visit as opposed to the 1st.....was it because of fear of crowding.....so a lot of folks have that fear and figure that the 8th would be better....which means that the 8th will receive the impact of the 4th. But then again.....2017 is proving to be hard to figure.....so you might luck out.....the best you can do is plan on it being crowded and adjust your touring style to make it manageable for you.....when i use to worry about crowding it took away my magic......now....I know it will be crowded and plan according ....and....magic dust sprinkles all over!!!!

The crowds have been lower the past couple of years. I would not be concerned about the crowds in Disneyland but I would be concerned about the traffic on the roads.

We were in DL yesterday and today. Crowds were quite manageable, given what we had expected/feared for a holiday weekend. Many CMs expect more crowds tomorrow and on the 4th itself, but this weekend was good.
