The way I read the new changes, you would not be able to transfer the 160 in even if you had 60 points reserved -- or even if you'd used 60 points. My understanding is that you can only have 300% of your points total for one use year, not that you can only use 300% of your points for one reservation. So, if your allotment is for 100 points, you could conceivably have 15 different reservations over the course of a year for 20 points each, or one reservation for 300 points, or some combination thereof. But once you make a reservation using some portion of that 300% limit, you don't get to add more points to the total for that year just because some of them are "used."
I hope that makes sense. And I haven't tried getting close to that 300% limit for a few years, so I have no experience in this -- my comments just reflect the way I understood the limitation.
For reference: Section 5 of the Home Resort Rules & Regs regarding Banking & Borrowing has this to say in part C (Limitations): 2) The total number of Home Resort Vacation Points combined from Home Resort Vacation Points that are allotted, Banked and Borrowed may not exceed three-hundred percent (300%) of the Club Member's Home Resort Vacation Point allotment for the current Use Year.
Although, now that I look at it, it doesn't really seem to address the issue of whether transferred points are considered part of the original owner's 300% limit. At one point, it implies that transferred points are considered to be "banked" points so I would expect them to treat them as part of the 300% total, but I'm not sure.
Sorry. Now I'm not as sure as I was that the transferred points would be subject to the same limit as your personal points.
