I am trying to decide if we should purchase Max Pass for our trip in a little over a week. We will be going for dapper day and it will be myself, my mom and my two daughters who are 5 and 3. My 3 yr old isn't 40" yet so she wouldn't be doing much of the fastpass rides so it would be myself, my mom and my 5 yr old with max pass. That being said... how does max pass work with rider swap? Or does it not? If we are all a "party" on my DL app, and I go on the ride with my daughter and my DL app gets scanned, could I get a rider/baby swap pass to give to my mom after since she will be with my youngest? Won't she be scanned in with my daughter and I as a "party"?
Is Maxpass even really beneficial in our situation where all 3 max pass holders wouldn't be able to ride at once anyway, since someone needs to be with my youngest?
Thank you so much in advance for any input! I am trying to wrap my head around this new concept and how it'll work and if its worth it for us. :)

You don't use FP as a "party" the way you're thinking. Everyone has their own FP, and even if they're all on the same phone you scan each FP individually. So you don't have to use them all at the same time.

You can use rider swap with MP and save some money by purchasing MP for only one or two tickets. If you purchase for one ticket, then one adult rides alone using the FP, and the other adult and 5yo get a rider swap (they don't keep track of which ticket is which so you can take turns being the one to ride alone). If you purchase 2 MP then the 5yo can ride twice.

I do think MP/FP will be handy in your situation because of the 5yo. If it were two adults and a baby, I would suggest lookong into single rider lines instead, but that's not an option for the 5yo.

You can get fast passs at the ticket machines and not have to purchase MaxPass. MaxPass lets you get photos and book fast passes over your phone instead of physically getting them.

Thank you so much! I misinterpreted another thread I read that we were all scanned at once. Thanks for clearing it up for me :)

FWIW we really enjoyed MP even though my youngest also had to stay with someone when we went in Dec. You get so much more done and so much less walking! I would say if the youngest won’t ever use a MP ride skip buying one for them but I would get one day of MP hands down! If you stay longer or come again you can decide if it worked forgot for next time. Also because of the imo bad changes to rider swap I don’t think we ever used it on our trip- we just hit the ride with the other person with MP later

What changes to rider swap?

We used maxpass with child swap back in December (after the change). It worked REALLY well. In Dec. They were scanning up to 3 tickets for the baby swap. So you and your older daughter could get fast passes. Then before you get on, your daughter and your mother could get their tickets scanned at the entrance for baby swap.

You and daughter ride, then gma and daughter can ride. It was pretty smooth.

So do we all need Max Pass then? I have my 6, 7 year old and then a 2 year old. So we used to do 1 parent with both kids and then the other parent with both kids, and in this instance we all need max pass. But if I do my pass and 1 daughter, then can we get a FP as soon as we can without having to walk all over, and then get a rider swap for husband and the other daughter. This should work, right?

You would only need max passes for whoever was going to ride the first time. And some of those people could potentially ride a second time. But if you only got lets sat 2 people max passes...they would be the first to ride every time. And up to 3 people could ride the second time (if they haven't changed anything since dec)

This is what we did. 2 mp between 3 adults with 2 non-riding toddlers. It was the only way we could have done anything. We didn’t even get to use rider swap—our kids just couldn’t Wait that long. We’d take turns one of us going on the ride. The other would go with a later mp. It worked for us.

They wouldn't have to be first. They don't check names only that it scans.

We’ve been spot checked on RSR. We dont “share” tickets or AP’s or FP’s and I would never recomend doing that. FP’s are linked to the ticket and are supposed to be used by that person.

We have AP’s but if you have regular tickets they’ll notice if you are using an adult for a child or vice versa.

Thanks for all the feedback and info! My mom, daughter and I are going to give it a try next week! I can't wait for our trip; I can hardly contain myself!!!!
