Max Pass Question Mickey's Halloween party DL & CA

I have a very quick upcoming trip this Friday. I've got a lot of good info from the boards in previous post since this is our first trip to Disneyland and we are there only for the Halloween party. Our party tickets include Max Pass which includes photos and Fast Pass. I know no fast pass are done during the party but our tickets get us in both DL & CA as early as 4 or 4:30. I assume we can make FPs during that time.

Please give me a quick lesson on how FPs work at DL/CA. I've been to WDW many times during FP legacy and FP+(ugghhh). We'll go to CA first about 4/4:30. Hope to ride Screamin, Cars, Guardians??? Then at 7:00 go to MHP DL maybe earlier depending on ride wait times / FPs etc. Want to set up as many FPs as early as we can.

I see where I can link my tickets to the DL app. I have not completed since the process inquires if you are in the park and ask about a purchase??

I assume no pre FPs can be booked but FPs can be made the day you at the park. Do you have to be in the park or can we make earlier in the day before park entry? How often to get FPs? I assume I can get another FP when the previous is complete or within 2 hours like FP legacy was?? Do they still have paper FPs?

So the fast passes it includes is max pass which allows you to book fast passes from your phone via the Disneyland app, but you do have to be in the park to do it after your entry ticket has been scanned.

When you book one it will tell you when you can book another. I've read different times between. It seems random to me.

We went on a Friday night and the only two rides that still had fastpasses available were Splash Mountain and Matterhorn. By the time we could book another fastpass, they were gone for every ride.

After you enter the park, you go to the app and scroll down to Get FASTPASS. It will ask you to create a group. Then it will show you which rides have fastpasses available. You click which one you want and you are done. You can click on See All Plans at anytime to see which passes you have and what time they are for.

@Boku41 Just to confirm, was a MaxPass included with the ticket to the Halloween party Friday night? Sorry, I've been hearing conflicting reports on different blogs so I just wanted to verify. We're going to the party on Halloween so I was hoping we might be able to get at least 1 or 2 fast passes before the party.

I only purchased the Party tickets and CMs said Max Pass & park hopper included. No FPs during party at DL but can get FPs before party at CA or DL. That is - if any exist? The earliest you can get in either park with just event ticket is 4 or 4:30?

Maybe boku41 or other can give us the recent experience confirmation.

Yes, Max pass is included. We were able to use it once before the fast passes ran out in Disneyland. Also, we were supposed to be able to enter Disneyland at 4:00 and they let us in at 3:45.

We had Maxpass and Photopass included for our tickets yesterday, it was very easy to use. We were able to enter the park around 2:45 and, unless I’m missing something, with only the event ticket you are supposed to be let in at 3, not 4....

Friday's parties start an hour later than Tuesday parties.

We were told by the ticket CM 4 , but you know how that goes!!! She seemed less informed than most I've spoke with.

I like 3 better than 4! Thanks!!

Friday's parties start an hour later than Tuesday parties.

The parties start at different times based on the day. Tuesdays the parties start at 6pm. Entry on party tickets is permitted 3 hours before the party starts. Therefore entry begins at 3pm.

Friday parties (like you're going to) start at 7pm. Therefore 3 hours prior to the party will be 4pm. Boku41 is correct as was the CM you spoke with.

Just make sure to get to the party early because it sounds like they are letting everyone in a little early.
