Will BB seat a party of 6 at a waterside table? Thinking about adding this to the Nov trip bucket list.

Didn't even think about party size.:scared: Will they seat a party of 8 waterside?

Waterside tables are usually parties of 4 (or less) but if you get there early as Jack does they shouldn't have any problems seating your party of more then 4. As it gets later in the day it might be more of an "issue" for them.

Thanks for the replies. When we went last year we really didn't do any meals in the parks. We only did a Goofy's Kitchen brunch because I got 4 free vouchers for getting a Disney Rewards Visa. This year, though, I want to have a more than "just the rides" experience and EAT EAT EATpopcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::.....Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, treats at Marceline's, corn dogs, F! Dessert Package, WOC dinner and/or picnic, Holiday Tour (mmm...gingerbread Mickeys)....but there won't be enough time or funds to do more than a couple of the higher priced options, so I'm trying to prioritize...sigh....:headache:

From last November:

The Blue Bayou and the Elusive 6-Tops by Disney Dreams
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2336055

We ate at the Blue Bayou yesterday. At one point I specifically asked our server about more than 4 people sitting waterside. He said that they changed things around recently and he would check for me.

He came back later with the following information.

There is 1 waterside 6-top that is always there now. There used to be 2, but no longer.

If they can do it, and it may require a long wait, they can push together 4-tops to make a larger table, but (and he was very specific about this) it could mean an extremely long wait because it means having the luck of the right tables opening at the exact same time.

I had a group of 9 last week and they said they could do it but told us it could push us at least an hour past our reservation time (I was already checking in a half hour early). I decided to go with their other option which was the 2nd row from waterside and got in about 10 min earlier than our reservation time.

So lots of people say that BB's food isn't really worth the prices, but you're paying for the atmosphere of being in the POTC ride. Is said atmosphere lost if you sit anywhere but waterside??

Waterside is more like the cherry on top for me. I could see the boats floating past from every table I've gotten at BB (I've not had a waterside table as an adult). Waterside just dosen't have anyone in between you and the water. IMHO, it's nice if you can get it, but nowhere near a deal breaker if you can't.

We have had waterside and non-waterside. The non-waterside was when we went for dinner, we decided that we never wanted to do that again, we would much rather do lunch and sit waterside. We were about 3 rows back from the water near the restroom hallway, people were passing by regularly and we could see the light coming in from the lobby area. You can see the light when you're closer to the water but it's not as noticeable so for us it did make a difference. We prefer waterside or the second row to anything farther back.

Last trip we were 2nd row from water, if we didn't have kids, I would have been fine with it. That said, we have 6 kids and the 4 and 2 year old tried many times to wander over to the water (they couldn't see from where we were since they are shorter). It would have been way more relaxing for DH and I if the 4 and 2 year old could have been in the seat next to the water. Then they could see the water and watch the boats going by.

I'm going to try for the first PS of the day on a weekday to improve our chances.:goodvibes Thanks for the help and sorry hope you didn't mind me intruding on your thread.:grouphug:

Good luck with your persuit of a waterside table.

Yikes I just had some more people decide to come on our trip so we now have 10 people. I have to call back and change my reservation. I wonder if I could just ask for 2 tables? We are actually 2 families so we can sit separate no biggie wonder if this is possible just get 2 tables next to each other? Hmmm need to think this through do you think I should just ask for 2 tables? This would not be worth it to us unless we sit by the water.

I think with that party size I would ask for 2 tables. Maybe they can note to seat you together on your reservation?

There are 2 tables that seat 6 (and can be pushed to 8 if you don't mind somewhat tight quarters) at waterside. There are 2 more in the 2nd row, which is still a pretty good view.

Larger parties are hard to accommodate at waterside - the best chance is at 11:30 when the restaurant opens and they have maximum control over assigning empty tables.

It is a very busy restaurant, and expecting two or more tables together to open up at the same time you want to eat is not realistic.

Reservations for parties larger than 4 are recommended 7-30 days in advance, but you can't reserve a waterside table - that can only be done when your entire party is there and ready to be seated.

we have had a multitude of party sizes while dining at blue bayou...and always sat water side. the key is have a reservation time before peak eating hours. 11:30-45 for lunch...4:45-5 for dinner.
