Hi all. So my youngest's Social Worker submitted for her to get a wish through MAW back in March. But we haven't heard anything. Another family whose child has the same genetic condition just became a Kids Wish Hero, and was offered a Wish through Kids Wish Network. I have read through the past threads/posts on here about Kids Wish, but those are from 2014 and earlier. I'm wondering does anyone know if Disney still does not recognize Kids Wish, if Kids Wish is still considered a bad Charity etc. What can you tell me? We tried to get a wish through MAW back in 2011 and were denied. Since then 9 children with the genetic condition (Chromosome 15q13.3 microdeletion syndrome) have passed away. The deletion was originally discovered in 2008. There is around 200 to have the deletion, and around 50 to have her specific deleted area. She also has Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia in which she does not sweat, cannot maintain/regulate her body temperature and starts seizing at 85 degrees. We live in Southern California where it can be 85 degrees on Christmas morning. We spoke with a MAW representative last year and they said to go ahead and submit again, which is where her Social Worker stepped in. Thanks in Advance.

I can't really answer your question but I would definitely look for an organization that is recognized by disney. Even in winter Disney can have unusually warm days, and you will need that genie pass. It gives you front of line access so you don't have to wait in the heat, plus if it's very warm you can get so much done with that pass, so if you have to leave the park early due to illness or heat, you can still get a lot done in a short time. I would try calling the main number for give kids the world to see if they might be able to help you determine which organizations work with disney

On the gktw website there is a list of organizations theywork with. Kids wish is not listed but there are a few others. Go to the faq page, under who we serve if you click on the last question it takes you to a link that shows the charities organized by state
