3rd recommendation for Honolua Bay. We've stayed at Kapalau each time and it's right there. Free. And as stated a few times tour boats would be out there. It's a big enough even then that it was not crowded. We brought our own snorkeling gear actually so made it very easy.
I'd save my money for a meal out. We hit up costco always too as a way to save money. Our splurge has been a helicopter tour. Most amazing experience ever.
