Matt's First Trippie - Day 2

Me (17) - Acts like a 5 year old. Sometimes it pays off..
Mother (40-Something) - Going along for our sakes..
Father (Also 40-Something) - Going along for fun rides..
DB22 (22) - Responsible for any fun on this holiday..
DBGF (22) - Thanking her stars she's still with DB22
DB19 (19) - Big Baby with AS, but is trying really hard for us
DS (13) - Teen (Need I say more?)

Day 2 - "As Blind as a Matt"

I awoke at about 8.00. I was so tired I really couldn't be bothered to get up and continueally tried to get more sleep. My Father doing a REALLY big fart gave me a reason to get up however..

DB22, DBGF, DS and Mother and Father had already gotten up at this point, where as DB19 was sound asleep. We got dressed really slowly, and by the time I had finished, DB22, DBGF and DS had gone to investigate food down here. She did meet someone along the way. MINNIE MOUSE! This prompt here to skip down the corrider singing "I met Minnie Mouse.." and her ringing her dad shouting it down the phone, to which his reply was F*** off..

I was spurred by this to quickly become awake so we could actually get out early and hopefully meet characters either in the park or in the hotel. We got out about 8.30 and met Pluto in the Corridor! We got in line, and me, DBGF and DS got in the picture. Although, Pluto nicked me and DS's hats and stuffed them in his mouth afterwards!!!

We went out, and walked through Disney Village (noticed a photo op but we never got round to doing it all together..). We headed for the park, got in OK and headed straight for Big Thunder Mountain. Now, BTM is a big step for DB19. He once got in line and when he heard "It's the Wildest ride in the wilderness!" he hopped off and got out. He did get on the ride and loved it all the way through. Afterwards we got off, and DBGF took a picture of a person in all purple.

We headed to the Shooting gallery. We put 2 euros in, and got 25 shots; ergo 5 per person with us. DB22 got 4/5 shots, DS got 2/5 shots where as DB19, DBGF and Me got a big fat 0 (I DID hit it 2, but the thing didn't go off.. ). At was at this time that I remembered I hadn't put my glasses on today! That would of made a significant improvement!! After telling DB22 and DBGF 5 times about it, DB22 messaged my parents.

We then headed back to meet the Parents at main street. By now we were starving; no breakfast at all. We headed for a Deli which was crowded and got some food. I ate 3 croissants; one of which was for Mother.. Oops.. BUT, unfortunately, They didn't get the message so I will have to go without today...

We headed off and decided to get rid of all the character meets. But, we did get some piccies of Christmas Main Street before we headed off. We then walked down Main Street, and we saw both Minnie and Mickey! Unfortunately, there was a heck of a line to see them, so we decided to just get a picture of mickey..

We then headed around the central area to see if there are any characters there. We saw Twedledee and Twedledum, and DB and DBGF got in a picture with Dee (Turn your head!!). We also saw Pinochio but due to the mob of kiddies we couldn't get a picture, so we did the Mickey method on him too.

We then remembered that Santa would be in the front part of Main Street, and since it was close to that time we headed back through the mob of people coming in and got in line. Me and DBGF looked so silly in line; we were the oldest there!! We eventually got to the front a took a picture, and told him what we wanted for Christmas. He spoke in French, and then when we told him we were English he spoke perfect English!!! I can't believe I met a Santa in DLRP THAT SPEAKS ENGLISH!! I didn't want to tell him I wanted a Nintendo Wii since I was rather embrassed, but DBGF said it anyway. He said "Oh? The new one?" so we said yup. I hope Santa does get me one!! I'll be good Santa; I promise!!!

We then went to Pirates of the Carribean, which is a big step for DB19 again. He lost a glove on this ride once, and has been too scared to go on again. We said lots of POTC the movie references; such as a swordfight between a pirate and a townsperson and the whole tortoga thing. They have also cashed into the movie as the photos you can buy have Jack fighting the Cracken around them and they have set up meeting points with Jack, although according to my notes he wouldn't show up any time soon.

We headed to Frontierland to see Mickey's Winter Wonderland. We love this show, and even though they are kinda lazy to either fully put it into English or French it is still fun!

We stopped for some lunch. Me, DB19 and Mother and Father had some Crisips, DB22 and DS had some Crepes (we didn't call them that!! ) and DBGF had some popcorn. We did have to queue ages for them though!!

We went to "it's a small world" after that (we saw the beast on the way, but no picture), and the line on that made DB22's cynical attutide come back again. Still, It was fun although it was mostly in french and we skipped the french telecom thing at the end. DBGF said she went insane from minute 1..

We headed back to Main Street USA in time for the 4 o Clock parade. It was pretty crowded and we were all depressed by the lack of rides to hours ratio we got. There were so many queues we had skipped a lot in the day; for example we missed the Robinson tree house in Adventureland as a result. Still the parade was nice, and another case of no french dubbing. It suited me just fine!! We do have some picture, but the power on the camera was running out when we took them, So we missed half of them..

There is also a Beauty and the best float (you can see it on the website anyway) and there were dancers for each float. Also there were a barrage of Clockwork soliders after the santa float which looked awesome!

We went to go get an early dinner, which again was more like a linner due to the lack of lunch. We decided to go to the rainforest cafe, which I have been to before on a trip to London. They didn't have much clue about it; in fact DB22 thought you get to select a fish to eat from the tank and DB19 was spooked by the rain effects. I had their ribs, which are a lot different to ours at home. Different taste and different size meat on the bones..

We headed back to the park in the hopes that the park was getting less full. Nope, just as full as it was before. We did manage to get onto Pinochio ride and the tea cups (the phrase "nutcracker" comes to mind!!) to which mother pulled a DB19 and got off the other side! Suited us, we were squished!

In the meantime, DBGF and Father went to the Phantom Manor. The rest of us were too scared to try it, but they said it was rather boring throughout; they expected to get jumped out of their seat scared and got nothing out of it, apart from witnessing a near fight. They would of gone off at each other, until a lot of people interveened. They didn't each speak French and were helping!!

We headed back to the hotel, slightly disapointed, whilst looking down Downtown disney at all the shops. When we got back to the hotel, However, we read on the board that the Mouse himself would be downstairs at 9! We decided to go and see him, but first a quick shop in the hotel shop (I was investigating the trip's cuddly toy; I wanted a Mickey but Mother suggested waiting till tomorrow and getting something at the Disney store).

After a quick rest in the room and a look at a couple of That's so Raven episodes, me and DBGF went downstairs and saw Mickey. However, rather than pictures he decided to dance for 25 minutes!! We don't care mickey; we just want a picture! I was a bit wimpy getting a picture, and in fact my picture was the last one of the night. DBGF didn't get one..

We headed back to the room, and while the boys went to the bar again, I decided to watch Disney Channel again. I went to bed, but earlier this time and got more sleep than the last time, although my feet were exhausted!

Next Time, Our heroes head back to the park yet again. Will they finally get to go on any rides, or will they get stuck in queues again? And What about MGM Studios? And Does Matt finally get his Cuddly Toy of the Trip? What about the Trip Home? Will I ever stop asking Questions? Tune in next time, in "The Day of Reckoning", or will you?

Wow! Sounds like an eventful day.

Your DB19 being spooked by the rain effects at Rainforest Cafe reminds me of when we went there. My DD was seated next to a Gorilla. After a while it moved suddenly - started beating its chest and doing ooh, oooh, oooh sounds like apes do (and me when my toe has been trodden on). DD nearly leapt into orbit. We had to seat her at the other end of the table and she kept watching the gorilla nervously all through the meal. It was so funny for the rest of us though.

Now you know Santa was true to his word. Nice thing we noticed that Santa spoke in a few languages in DLP
