Matterhorn

I think on average Fantasyland is smoother however I have had very rough rides on both sides of the track. I think how rough it is depends on where in the car you are and how the weight distribution in the cars is. Im not sure what the magic seat is but I have had some really smooth rides and have had some backbreaking rides. Havent been able to figure out what causes it to be nice vs painful. Love the new effects tho and try to ride each side at least once if I am in the parks for a few days

Could anybody tell me how it compares in roughness to Space Mtn. at Disney World?

It is MUCH worse than Space Mt at WDW. I think that a lot of that has to do with the position you are sitting in on the bobsled. Unless they have changed it since I rode at the beginning of the year, the seat length is too short for most adult humans which forces your knees to be up in the seat (for me, pressing against the back of the seat in front and at 5'6" I am not huge). This puts your tail bone right no the seat...supporting your weight. So now, think of being rolled back on your tail bone in firmer seats than Space Mountain and riding a bumpy ride like Space Mountain. That said, I would still do it at least once just because of it's history.

Now, the last time I went, the attraction was having difficulty and was going 101 all day...and when we did finally get to ride it, only the Fantasyland side was running and it was SLOW. I mean REALLY slow. Have they slowed the speed or was the speed related to the problems on the ride. We were going just over walking speed.
