Matterhorn refurb in march

so the DL web site lists the Matterhorn as being on refurb the first week of March (except for the first, since it's a Sunday)

I assume they won't shut it down on weekends because of crowds?

When they close down to do refurb they dont open it up for weekends and then work again monday...it'll be down until they are finished with their project. It might only take a few days though. But yes, it should be open on the first.

what doesn't make sense then is that it's on refurb on the calendar for the week before the 1st and then the 28th of Feb and March 1st it's not on refurb according to the calendar and then back on refurb starting the 2nd.

It could be 2 different projects being done, the first schedule Feb. 23rd - 27th and then the second beginning on March 2nd.

I would be cautious on figuring it will be open again on the 4th, as it appears that the calendar is not updated at all after the 3rd.

oh I totally agree, We'll be there from the 1 through the 6th so I think we'll go that first day (Matterhorn was under a big refurb in October of 2006 when we were last there)

I am going from March 1-8 and I am so mad that Matterhorn will be closed. I changed around my plans so when I arrive on the 1st in the evening I am going to ride the Bobsleds 5x's at least.

Me too. It still has the matterhorn listed as refurbed on the 2nd and 3rd and the 4th isn't up yet. However do take it with a grain of salt because disney has been shaking up the schedule like crazy lately!

Do you guys think 11th, 12th, & 13th will be safe?

I'm from Chicago and mainly go to WDW, so not being able to go on the Matterhorn would be a big deal.
