Looks like Matterhorn is down for refurbishment on the calendar starting 2/28/22 - hopefully its a quick one!

Of course we'll be there right after this refurb starts - ack! This has always been the most frustrating thing about planning a Disneyland vacation - not knowing what is going to be closed for refurb until about 6 weeks out. Flights booked, hotel reserved and BAM - you find that one of your favorites will be down during your trip!

It's definitely frustrating when you live far enough away that it's hard to get back very often.

Crap. We’re going to be there 3/7-3/9. The dang monorail better be back on 3/6 as scheduled, as this is one of the primary reasons we stay at the DLH. If the Matterhorn is down that week, I sure hope Splash Mountain and Grizzly River is back up and running.

My favorite! Thank goodness we'll be there on the 27th!!
We weren’t planning on using our 5 day park tickets until that Monday, but I may have to buy an extra day to ride Matterhorn on Sunday as well! This is a once in a lifetime trip for us, so I don’t want to miss one of my favs!

Well my back is thankful that it will be closed while we are there!
LOL Amen on that! While I'm disappointed it will be closed for our visit, my aging body can only take about one ride on it! Its pretty brutal, especially in that back seat... wish they could improve the padding on this ride. Maybe for this refurb? ha! :-)

My poor kiddo went several years before they could ride Matterhorn since it was always down when we went. When they were younger they were too afraid. Finally got to ride it for the 13th birthday trip this fall. I go next week so I'll have to get all my rides in since it likely won't be up for my early March trip.

Matterhorn has always been kind of painful for me even though I’m only 20 LOL. I don’t have back problems or anything but the ride hurts. A trick a friend taught me back in November was to lean forward so you don’t keep slamming into the back of the seat. I’ve been on it several times since then and had a MUCH more enjoyable experience!

So sorry for those who love it and will be missing it. It would be really nice if Disney would announce their ride closures more in advance. I’m sad Splash will be down again for my 2/7-2/12 trip but thankfully I got to ride it a bunch the first couple days of my 1/7-1/12 trip and in the couple trips before that. Regardless of what’s open and what isn’t, you can still have the best time ever, even though it’s certainly disappointing
