Matt, Chester and Ann!!!!!

Thanks Carrie :woohoo: - I have already been giving you HUGE thanks for getting me through. I am so glad I found you  because it really helped me keep going.

I hope to post my race report by this weekend - I have it all typed out but its a little long since I typed it for my scrapbooking and people who have no idea what goes on at a race so I will pare it down for this audience but that will take a little time. LOL

It was easy to spot Chester - I saw him 2 times - right at the beginning and then again at TTC - I thought to myself - how did he get here that quick. Well I still want to know how he got there that quick????

The monorail makes it easy. I was able to hit 4 positions around the course. Unfortunately, I missed seeing a lot of the faster runners because I stayed in position until the sweepers passed.

First, I walked to a landscaped island just after the start (.25 mile). From there, I ran to the EPCOT monorail station and headed for TTC and took up a spot just after the TTC. Next, I ran over to the Polynesian and found a spot just before mile 8. A quick jog back to the TTC monorail and I was off to Epcot where I snuck through some bushes to stand just before mile 13. I had a great time and look forward to doing it again.

Thanks for the tip Chester I will have to remind my DH to do that next time so he can see me since he missed me at the finish

Do you think they would notice if we hopped on the monorail during the marathon - it sure would save some time? LOL

And miss the lovely run between the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom? Not to mention the sewage processing plant?

You forgot to mention all the birds that congregate, and I assume dine on the grassy area in front of the sewage treatment plant. I have to admit by mile 16 I'm always hurting so much that my brain isn't processing as it should, but it always make me wonder,

"What in the heck are those dumb white birds eating?"

What you, Anne, and Matt did during the half marathon was truly wonderful. I'm sure your attire and enthusiasm picked up many a tired participant.

Good luck with your 2009 training, and I'll see all 3 of you at the next marathon weekend.

Yes, I just wanted to add my thanks to all the WISH scream teamers out on the course Sunday - you are all awesome and your presence was greatly appreciated.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It's funny that I don't recall the birds. It may be that by that time my "tunnel vision" was at maximum. I'm usually very observant of any critters along the routes I run.

I spent my teenage years volunteering at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, first as a community service project for Eagle Scout and then every Summer until I left for College. I've rescued and rehabbed just about every type of bird and most animals common to Florida. Birds especially have a prominate place in my heart.

Just this morning I saw a Sandhill Crane family complete with a fuzzy chick while out on an 8 mile run. I guess spring time is already here on the West Coast of Florida.

Best wishes and health to you,

Chester

:rotfl2: Ah, that brought back memories of the type of profound thoughts that run through one's mind during the marathon!

The WISH team spirit was great!!

I really appreciated all the WISHers who came out to cheer for the Princess half. It really kept me going.

I saw Chester somewhere around the .5 mile. He took me by surprise so I didn't get a picture of him at that time. I saw him again just after the TTC - almost at the 5 mile marker. He was extremely hard to miss! Thanks for making the journey to Orlando to cheer for us Chester!

It was great to see Anne around the GF. I was totally not expecting to see her. I also saw Robert a few yards down from her snapping pictures. It was true WISH spirit that pulled them away from their vacation to spend some time cheering for us. Thanks Anne!!

I then saw Chester again just after the Poly. He sure does get around fast. I need to take his short cuts for the next race.

I saw Matt around mile 11.5 running the wrong direction. Of course he shouted out good wishes to me. Again - no picture - caught me by surprise! Thanks for all of your positive energy Matt - it really helps all of us!

I was getting a little sad as I crested that last hill on my way down into Epcot. My DH, Mike, is usually there cheering for me and helps me finish the last mile but of course he wouldn't be there - he was home with our girls. My spirits were picked up when I saw the WISH glow coming from just outside Epcot. As I approached I was very happy to see Maura and Suzanne cheering. They kept me going through the hardest part of the race for me. Thank you Maura and Suzanne!

I also saw several other WISH shirts cheering along the course - thank you to everyone who was out there cheering. It truly was a great race thanks to all the WISH support!
