I had an appointment with my Midwife today. The baby is really low. They are pretty sure his head in in my pelvis since they couldn't find it, LOL! And the bulk of him is on my right side.

I an quite uncomfortable. My hips and low back are under strain due to the pulling ligaments of my belly from the baby weight. The baby has a lot of room to grow up, but he doesn't seem to want to. So far he is the exact opposite of his Sister. :confused3

Anyway, she suggested a support belt to help take the strain off of my stomach ligaments and low back. I was just wondering if any Diser's have tried one of these. Did it give you noticable relief? Can you recommend a certain one? Or one I should stay away from?

Here's one I was looking at. Hope this picture is not too much for the DIS!

Thanks so much!

Yes I did and it did help a little, but I was in the grocery store one day and the thing came undone (it was velcro) and fell off. I was so embarrased!! LOL. I never wore it again after that.

I used one with my 2nd - when I was working at a job where I stood a lot, and I looooved it. Made a huge difference. I don't know the brand, I bought it at Motherhood Maternity, and it was white with velcro closures - whatever the saleslady gave me.

I also had a massage, and this spa had a special table for the pregnant ladies, with a big hole in the center - it just felt so good to lay on my stomach for a change.

I also bobbed in the pool a lot, which was very helpful as well.

I wore one with baby #3, constantly! Mine was wider than the one in your picture, with LOTS of velcro, it could never fall off. It really helped me a lot. Good luck!

I had that one with my first and it didn't work for me. Maybe I wasn't using it right, I don't know. So, I suffered. Fortunately didn't need one for my second. I hope you find some relief soon. I know how you feel.

Never really worked for me, but I second the pool!!

Lots of relief!

i used something similar only it was a pair of underwear with the belt built in
Ugly as ever to look at but it did help some

I used what was called a belly bra. It was a maternity bra/cami that came down over the stomach. It gave a tremendous amount of support. It also helped my back. I thought my 3rd baby was going to fall out and he was a little peanut! I had a lot of pressure. The belt just doesn't look like it could give you much relief from the pressure.

Thank you everyone! :)

I'm not sure what I am going to do. I will keep looking online and see what types I can find. I think it is going to be a long summer!

I have big babies, over 9lbs, and I swear i carried my DD between my knees, she was so low. I'm a nurse and being on my feet all night, my back was killing me. I used one of those belly slings with #2 & #3 and it was a life saver. It never came undone, no one else could tell I was wearing it. and it helped get the baby up off my bladder.

I used one with DD#2 because of ligament pain. Mine helped some, but I found it pretty uncomfortable to wear. It's the lesser of two evils. I hope you find one that is comfortable for you.
