Matching T-shirts. Opinions, please.

I don't think the comments were rude - yes, some people (including myself) think that adults who wear matching shirts look dorky (and I also feel the same about adults wearing mouse ears and a huge giant cartoon character). So what? Wear what you want. I don't see saying someone looks dorky as vicious.

Might want to look up the definition of Dork....it means different things to different people and it's definitely not nice where I'm from.

I did not read most of the posts, but I am one that would never in a million years wear matching clothes. Matching is something people do with their twin 3 year old girl's. To me it gives the appearance that the man in his group has replaced his mother with his wife, and both pick out his clothes every moring in an effort to make him look as cute as possible.

Are you serious? I never would have thought someone would jump to those conclusions. Hmmm, what does it mean that my husband matches all his co-workers everyday? What about all those nurses (female and male) that wear matching scrubs everyday? Heck, even my kids dentist has his nurses coordinate their outfits and he wears a different complimentary color every day.....wow, who knew he was surrounded by a bunch of 'mothers' just wanting to make him cute and less of a man.

I asked my husband yesterday about our matching shirts and he said since we've matched shirts the past 2-3 years it's been such a breeze to pack and get dressed in the morning. He said it makes it fun and he enjoys it.....I never in a million years would have thought someone would think he was being 'mothered' by wearing matching shirts. That's deep LOL

Last year I made shirts for my family of 4 to wear. DH did NOT want to do this. I surprised him with a sports related Mickey DISign (thanks to the DISser that made it!). We all had the same color but he had his Red Sox design and was happy to wear it.

We all wore matching/themed shirts when we went with our DD, and this may come as somewhat of a shock to some of you, but my DH didn't feel one bit emasculated OR tell me to quit mothering him!

She'd tell us, "If you can't find us, go to a CM and say that you're looking for people wearing the same shirt as you." These were usually shirts related to our county or town, like the shirts we got from our local library's annual book festival. My dad's about as macho as they come, and trust me, he didn't care at all.

I remember those days. My mom made us all wear our Elementary school field day shirts one year. It was fun to look back and see pics of all of us having fun though. My dad would also get shirts for all of us that were of his Unit in the Army (like one that sticks out in my mind were yellow w/ a red horse on it because they were Charlie company and they thought it would be funny to be the "Charlie horse" company).

My hubby got WAY more into making the shirts than I did, once I showed him all the ideas...he just ran with it and started designing his own! We LOVE the pix of us and just really enjoyed it. And it was easier to spot each other if one of us went to get drinks or something. We got several positive comments from CM's and other families about our shirts. But we admit we are "Disney Dorks"!

You can get custom shirts on Zazzle. Or, if you feel like ironing, they can make a design for you on the Creative Community board.

My boys sometimes wear matching shirts, and often wear the same color. Not so much because I might lose them, as they're old enough to know better, but because it looks better in pictures. I've found that our best Disney pictures happen when they're both in red, blue, or yellow...the same palate that a lot of Disney stuff uses.

I don't dress like them, well, because t-shirt really aren't my thing. I'm a decade or two too old for themed t-shirts. Plus, I have no neck and I'm pooh-sized, so t-shirts are just about the least flattering thing I could wear.

This is a change from when I was still in my 30's...back then I wore t-shirts all the time. If I were a younger mom, I still would.

I think it looks dorky in person and weird in pictures.

I could see matching the kids but why match the adults too?

We're planning a trip for September and my husband suggested matching shirts. "How about Hawaiian shirts one day and bright orange another day?" were his exact words. We've never been to Disney World, the trip was my idea and he's done no planning, so he thought he was being so original. He's definitely not being dragged along!

I am doing Hawaiian shirts, but not bright orange, because I don't look good in orange and my red-headed daughter looks too much like a carrot.

For the record, we wear matching Halloween costumes, too, and they're usually his idea and he creates them. Last year we were robots. The year before, he and I were farmers and our little guy was a peapod. Good times.

We've not had a halloween together since we have had kids, but I'm thinking we might do something similar this year.

We do the colour scheme thing. So our shirts aren't the same, but we will all wear clothing that has blue in it.
And we had red day (DS's favourite colour).
My husband agreed to "not clash" with us, but when we were there got into the whole thing.
My favourite day was our Mickey and Minnie day (DH and DS wore mickey, DD and I wore Minnie) and he loved it but made me promise not to post those pics on facebook.
I thought that was fair.
