I am really getting psyched for my trip with DH and DD (6 today!) in 9 days! Everyday I think of more ways to make it special (part of the anticipation). I now wonder if I should throw in matching shirts at the last minute. I know DD would get a big kick out of it (DH would tolerate it at best). I could do just her and I, unless DHs end up getting a kick out of it while there.

Most definitely because soon your DD isn't going to want to dress like you. I say take advantage of those little opportunities while you can.

Matching shirts are great for keeping track of a larger group. If you can get some shopping in without adding some last minute stress, go for it. Otherwise, as you say, DH won't miss it.

YES YES YES

We started this in 2003 and every year we go to Disney I manage to get a matching shirt/outfit photo....it might be difficult this year with the 15 year old but too BAD ON HIM..lol.

It makes a GREAT souvenier!!

In May 2007 I am planning for my family to wear matching shirts. I plan on tie dye, but you should look at the other designs some members here have made... incredible!

I would say yes for reasons PPs have mention as well as where else BUT Disney can you get away with being a grown up and wearing mickey ears or a tiara. Not to mention fanny packs, crocs, well you get the idea. Have a great time on your trip!!! pixiedust:

Whenever I take the kids (to WDW or any other family vacation), I have us wearing matching tees - and same-color shorts, as well. First, it gives me more peace of mind to think that if we get separated, any one of us can say the rest of the party is dressed the same. Almost as important, though, is the sense of family togetherness I feel when we all have the same thing on.

DD 11 is at the age where she tolerates the sameness, though it isn't really that cool to her. DS 8 wears my old shirts from previous trips as nightshirts, and he likes to remember the vacation that way.

I am trying to think of designs for our upcoming August trip, and also have t-shirts from DS's school musicals that we all bought to support the music program that will reduce costs, too.

For out June trip I bought matching shirts. Some days matching in color like green for AK day, white for MK day. and also themed shirts. FOr Ohana's the girls are wearing hawaiian printed pink & green shorts with a pink top, I'm wearing a bright pink top and DH is wearing green. DH is fine with it, as long as there are no characters on his shirt. Writing and matching colors are OK, Mickey is not. He usually only wears gray, white, blue and green shirts (very few stripes or plaids) so this is actually a MAJOR concession on his part. I think it will make great pics and also make it easier to keep sight of everyone.

I think next time I will plan more matching.

For this trip we all had Mickey print shirts (dress for DD) that we wore to HDD one night. We got some great photos before we went in!

For our MK day, DD (2) and I both wore pink tinkerbelle shirts and the guys (DH & DS5) wore gray. The pictures with Mickey Mouse came out cute.

Then there were the other days - orange, burgundy, hot pink, bright blue, green, you name it, we wore it! And boy did we clash!! :)

BTW, I don't know if any of you are near AC Moore craft store, but they have tshirts in a lot of colors on sale 5 for $10. I think that ends today.

The disney store now has the american disney t-shirts and Hats for 5 dollars each in sizes for the entire family. If you have time you can go to the disney store at your local mall/ shopping center and pick a few up. I bought some mickey, goofy, stitch, and donald shirts for my fam when they were 4.99, and 2.50 each last week.I was there yesterday and they still had some of the ones on sale for 4.99 (they were 2.50 last week because of an extra 50 percent off ) they may still have some at your store too :thumbsup2 .

Exactly!

I'm a huge fan of matching shirts for all of the aforementioned reasons. Plus, CM's tend to give us some extra attention/remember us--"Oh look, it's the Pooh family again!"
We even bought some personalized Disney tshirts from Disneyshopping.com.
When I'm at Disney I'm all about the whole tourist get-up--shirts, GOH badges, lanyards, etc. Where else can you get away with that?
Have a magical trip! :sunny:

There are 4 girls (3 DDs and me) so I try to dress us in coordinating colors. The older girls usually have matching shirts but it is hard to find matching shirts for the baby and me. We also try to coordinate DH somewhat ;) . One day we all wear Texas shirts and we also buy one set of matching shirts when we get there for our group photo. The matching shirts look really nice in the photos and, as a PP said, they are helpful for keeping up with your group. Last year while we were at AK it came a downpour (imagine that :teeth: ) and as we were headed for cover we became separated from DH and DD#3. We girls were dressed in orange that day so all I had to do was find the man carrying the little orange kid.

If you can, do it. We had a group of 13 and on our red day - we all looked great! We happened to have breakfast with Mickey that day and the pictures were so good. I also had made the name shirts from one of the links on here for five of the kids. We got so many comments on them it was incredible. Rachel was looking for her cousins and people would answer "I saw David and Steve walk that way." - all from their shirts. And if you plan ahead a little bit the downloads were free on the Creative DIS board and the t-shirts 5 for $10 at Michaels. Overall in the pictures it looks so good. My husband was medicore on it - but went along with it and he was glad he did.

Like someone else said - everything goes at Disney. Have fun - we're heading back again in August and were there over this past Easter break. Can't wait!

We wore matching Disney shirts from our 2004 trip one of the days we were in the park last September. I thought it made for great pictures!

By chance I matched my family several days of our 2nd WDW vacation in the same color scheme and my pictures looked so good that did it with the 3rd vacation. It also made packing and dressing much easier than standing around wondering what should we wear.

Where/How do I get a GOH badge for DD?

princess: DD (6)

At WDW--DTD Christmas Shop, Emporium at MK, and there's a shop at MGM--sorry, can't remember the name. Ask a CM--I'm sure they'll be able to tell you. :sunny:
