Massive Scam!!! Please Read!!!!!

All, i was just contacted via aol instant messaenger, with a request from someone claiming to be the brother of a VMK tester. He said if i gave him my account info i will get blue or red ears. Below is the conversation. If you have any input on who this is, or how we can get him, please post or pm. Mods, please do not delete the screen names used, it is VITAL to finding this person!!

I had that happen on AIM and then through a PM on the Dis only they offered inferno.

What is it with the new rash of cheating?

I sent in a long letter for VMK about it and I know they took action because we can no longer said aim.

Mods, please dont remove the name. It is VITAL that people see the name, and if they know it, we can trace his IP and report it to VMK! Please!!!

Puck as it stands right now posting a name is against DIS VMK board policy.

If that changes for these types of scams we will put it back.

I am really not getting why people are scamming others. For all they know they could be little kids. All of these scammers need to have a reality check and realize that they don't need to scam people on a virtual game. Can't they find anything else to do with their time?

I was in a staff room (name not released) and a person said that they were (VMK_....) well, the staff member asked them if they wanted a really long time out? The person got scared and left.

Because they are selling on ebay for large amounts of money would be my quess.


They are looking at the trade board to see who has what and contacting those people to try and scam them out of there stuff.


If they would put half as mych energy into earning credits and trading for the items they would not need to scam people.

Its sad to know that we have these kind of people among us, but by allowing us to speak their names, maybe we can get an IP match to their legit account and then foward that IP to VMK and tell them to look for suspicious activity.

Are we allowed to say that there is a scammer on DIS that happens to share the same name as a brand new movie released that would appeal to tween -teen girls? And to sound like a broken record, no matter how good the deal sounds, DON'T GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO. It scares me to death how many have fallen prey to this. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!

That happened to me over on the fansite. Some girl pmd me saying that if I wanted inferno and green flips she could get me them. She said I could get like three inferno and two pairs of green flips. She said if you give me your login and password I can get it for you. I asked her how that would work. She said her dad and brother used to work for vmk and they knew some trick to like double an item. I told her that I would never give out that information and that she should never ask for that information. I told her that if she could really do it then she could do it on her character. I knew it was a scam from the start. Why do people try to do this? Have they actually tricked someone into giving out their information?
