Massive Park-wide Breakdowns.

Just looked at the app again. Good news is Space Mtn is back up, bad news is.... 200 minutes!

I'd would absolutely LOVE to say "What kind of people wait on line 3+ hours for any ride\attraction." I'd would absolutely LOVE to say that "I would never do that!"

That's when I remember I still have nightmares about when Toy Story Mania first opened at Hollywood Studios at WDW. That all the paper fastpass's for that ride were distributed by 8:30am and the rides standby que never dropped below 200 minutes for the entire day. My three kids at the time 8 DD, 6 DS and 3 DS kept non-stop begging me to take them to ride it throughout the day and I kept on dodging those requests left and right. Let's go visit the Muppets 3D ride, lets go visit the stunt cars, lets go visit the live stage shows of the Disney cartoon tv shows (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins and various others).....anything to avoid that massive line at Toy Story Mania. At one point after lunch, we walked past it and saw it was 300 minute wait and off to do some character meet and greets with Woody and Buzz instead! LOL

End of the day, we watched Fantasmic and it was excellent and the kids loved it. I then even convinced my 8 year old DD to ride tower of terror and she loved it. I thought what a perfect way end out day at 9pm and go back to the hotel and relax for a bit. As we walked towards the exit, all three kids at the same time said "Perfect time to go on Toy Story now, right dad?" I was dead set against it and tried to explain to them that it's a long wait, we need so sleep early since we're going to Epcot in the morning and that we'll do the ride on our next Disney vacation (we'd go to WDW almost yearly at this point).

I thought I made my point and the boys seemed disappointed but they understood a bit of what I said. Then my 8 year old DD hits me with a ton of bricks!!! "Dad, my Disney experience would not be complete unless I get to ride Toy Story" What's a dad supposed to do with that, off to Toy Story we go. Suffered the mind numbing 3 hours in the ride que of Toy Story and kids are all excited, my wife and my mom are trying to keep our spirits up and discussing how amazing this ride will be. Man was I disappoint after the ride to find out it was a carnival shooting game??? We didn't leave till way past midnight and by the time we got back to our hotel room, it was past 1am. I'm sure the ride would have been find if we had reasonable wait time for it but I've told my family I refuse to go on that ride again unless the wait time is 15 minutes or less. Luckily for my sanity, every time since then at Hollywood Studios and at DCA when I pass the ride, I see 20+ minutes and we happily walk on by. My family knows better than to ask me to go on it without a short wait time. LOL

Sorry for the rant, I saw the 200 minutes for Space Mountain and had this horrible flashback that I needed to get out. :crazy2:

Wow that's insane, rides like Teacups or Autopia should at most have 20-30 minute waits. I can't imagine waiting 60+ minutes for them. You know its bad, when you look at the Disneyland and you see the Little Mermaid with 45-60 minute waits over in DCA. Although with all the ride breakdown, I guess people just flock to whatever ride is working.
Exactly this. When Space Mountain is down in Tomorrowland, people go to Autopia and Buzz to wait it out and hope to be nearby when it comes back online.

Although Space was down for like 4 hours yesterday, maybe 5. I think it may have been down at park opening.

Tokyo Disney during Spring Break and Golden Week is fun. During Spring Break, they let the ride wait times go as high as they need to and I've seen waits of 300+ with many popular rides being 200+. During Golden Week, they cut any queue when it hit 240 minutes and on one day, I was in line to get into Disneysea over an hour before opening but Toy Story Mania Fastpasses were gone before I even got into the park. And they had given out more Fastpasses than usual because shortly after 11AM, the standby was completely full for the entire day (10PM park closing). Usually those 11 hour waits are only for meeting Donald and Mickey on their respective birthdays.

I can already imagine what their expressions were on their faces after waiting on line for an entire day for a 5 minute ride. LOL
