Has anyone had massages at both/either of these DVCs? I'm thinking of booking one in August and am staying at BCV. I hear how wonderful SSR spa is, and was curious if it was that much better than at BC. It would be easier to not have to travel to get one, but I would if it was really that spectacular. :thumbsup2 Anyone with experiences getting massages at other Disney locations? Any recommendations as to which ones are best? And do we only get DVC discounts at SSR? :confused3 I've never ever gone for a massage before and am thinking I will just treat myself to something nice before heading back to the classroom in September, lol!! Thanks for any advice you could give me!:goodvibes

I can not say anything about BC but here is the web site for SSR and GF you can go to either.

SSR and GF have a full spa where as BC does not so will have a much greater choice if that matters

I am staying at BCV in September.
I am booking a spa day at the spa at the Dolphin. From what I have heard on
this board, Madiera (sp) is the bomb. It is Balinese, new and very nice.
I can hardly wait!

We have done both. The best massage was at BCV, but SSR had more of an experience.

At BCV, the waiting area is a small spot by the front desk. You are then taken to your room where you change for your tratment.

At SSR, They have a large locker room with sauna and spa where you change and then go to their relaxation room and wait for your theripst to come and get you. I am used to the dcl cruise ship where I can relax with my husband in the tropical rainforest and saunas. The drawback I see is that I we lose some of our relaxation time together being that the sauna and whirlpools are in the locker rooms. SSR also has additional treatment rooms for manicures etc.

Personally, although very nice, SSR is not worth the travel for just a massage. If you are having a girls day out or something, then it is great!

Back in August 2005 (I think! it was soon after SSR had opened) my BIL treated me to a massage at the Spa at SSR.

It was fantastic........I didn't want to get up and leave.
We both had the Mystical Forest massage..............the experience was wonderful from start to finish.

I also took my son for a My First Facial, he loved that too and has asked to go back for a massage. The therapist was wonderful with him, I got to relax in the waiting area with a nice cup of tea and curl up with a magazine.

I would definately recommend the spa at SSR and BIL says he is treating on our next trip! Can't wait.
