Massachusetts A-10 Unit came home last night!

I was watching Fox before bed last night and the Boston Mass A-10 unit arrived last night. I believe it was the 104th Fighter wing. I know that another A-10 unit (I think Baltimore, but I may not be remembering what DH said) will be leaving Kuwait on Wednesday, probably arriving stateside on Thursday.

Dh said that he has finished outprocessing and that yesterday was his last day working. He e-mailed me at 10am in the morning, a first since he has been there. He is completely bored and ready to come home. All is finished for his unit, and they are awaiting a plane home. Word is that they will still be leaving on Thursday May 1st, but there is no word on a transport yet. I am feeling doubtful that he will be home on Friday. I keep praying that he will e-mail with information, and there is still hope.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I hear soon. I know he will be home soon, and it definately feels closer than ever. Somehow it still seems so out of reach.

Oh, I hope he makes it by Friday ! I remember that feeling of waiting and hoping and wondering! It took an extra few days to get DH back to Germany after the Gulf War and he was on the advanced party heading back. I kept thinking he would get back for the birth of our first child but it WAS difficult for them to get him a plane. He was waiting in a tent in Saudi for the plane when DS was born! Hope your luck is better getting your DH home on time ! At least you know his work is through and he WILL be HOME SOON!

Melanie, you must be going crazy waiting for your DH!! I hope he's not delayed. Did you tell him about the car or are you managing to keep it a surprise?

I have a big mouth, so I did not keep it a surprise. He is so excited to drive home in his new car. I even e-mailed him a picture of his car.

Crazy is not even the word. I think it's starting to border on unhealthy......I can't stop checking my e-mails. He e-mailed once yesterday during a 24 hour period. I must have checked my e-mails every few minutes throughout the day. Thank goodness that my home e-mail can be checked from work. I keep thinking that If I don't check it, I may miss an e-mail and spend unneccessary time wondering! He promised that he would e-mail me the moment he found out day or night.

This is way worse than waiting to go on a Disney Vacation. I am sure you can all relate to that week prior to going. The anticipation and the wait! The thrill of going, but the agony of waiting!!
