I just wanted to say that I just made a "chocolate fudge cake" that we got as a gift last year and it was DELISH. I wanted DF to tell his coworker that made it for us and tell her how much we liked it, and he said that it will offend her that we hung on to it so long. Will she?

You could say it accidentally got packed away behind a bunch of boxes and you made it as soon as you found it. I think she'd rather hear that you loved the cake. Maybe, all this time she thought you had made it and didn't like it.

If he thinks it will offend her then just tell her that you are craving another and would love the recipe. This way she knows that you used it and that you liked it! Plus...she might make another one for you for Christmas again.
