MASKS

I completely feel your frustration!!!! Unfortunately my guess is sometime in 2022, at least for full unmasking, indoors and out at Disney.

Any tips for wearing masks in the summer? I don't have a problem with it, but a friend who visited in November said even then doing that all day in the heat was pretty brutal, and we are going in August

Universal is apparently going to make an announcement sometime this week regarding the future of their health and safety protocols. My guess is that the mask mandate is removed 6/1 at Universal with masks only being required indoors. Disney will soon follow (just like they did in the post-COVID reopening plan) and I think masks are gone by July. Considering cities like NYC are committing to reopening 100% by July 1st I don’t see how Disney could justify a mask mandate after that date.

We are going in June and I am very much hoping they lift the requirements for masks outdoors by then. I don't love masks and I my own strong opinions about them, but it's far easier to wear them inside an air conditioned space than out in the heat. With more people getting vaccinated . . . here's hoping!! And if the previous poster is correct . . . maybe that adds pressure to Disney. Or maybe we switch our trip last minute and go to Universal instead!

I really can’t imagine lifting the mandates until the kids are vaccinated.
This is my hope. We don't have kids but I'm not planning on giving Disney money until AFTER kids aren't at risk just so they can go to Disney.

I disagree. It’s less about who gets vaccinated and more about the actual spread of the virus. Kids (for whatever reason) don’t commonly spread the virus so therefore I think theme parks will take a step back this summer and only require masks when indoors.

I would feel way more comfortable with all the de masking if more people would be vaccinated.. but here we are. I hope we get through all this without another outbreak and ruin my Oct vacation :(

But if your vaccinated like I am your protected against it so that wouldn't make me feel any more comfortable. I do hear you on the outbreak and things getting shut down but I am hopeful we have turned that corner for good.

I was there back in Nov, the masks aren't fun and Disney was different. We had a great time in fact one of our best trips but the masks give me a headache.
