We will be heading to Orlando June 16-23 and we just bought the Florida resident tickets "Buy 1st day get 2nd day/2nd park free" and are so excited to be going to Universal as well as Disney. I've never been to IOA and the last time I went to Universal was 15 yrs. ago.

We have a 10 yr ,7 and 1 yr old. My question is which to go to first when we arrive early in the am. Marvel or Suess? Which should we do first in order to make the most of our time? Both of these are a must see for the family!!

Also, I'm guessing the parks are pretty crowded around the time we're going. Does anyone know for sure how the crowds are that week?

Thanks,Melissa

To save Time, I am guessing Marvel should probably be first, I am guessing that Marvel becomes more crowded faster due to the Hulk and Spiderman rides. Probably go there first. It circles around so you can end up at Suess.

If you go on a weekday, Seusslanding probably won't open until an hr after park opening. The park will get busy around lunch time. Arrive at the gate 30 prior to opening and as soon at the park opens hit Marvel, then work your way around, ending up in Seusslanding. You should have time to ride a lot of rides before things fill up too much.

Definately hit Marvel first...I love this area, but it gets very busy very quickly. I usually do a circle, starting in Marvel and ending in Seuss landing...haven't had any problems with that and then if I still have time, I go to the Hulk and Spiderman again...

from june 16 - 23, ioa closes at 8 pm and the studios close at 9 pm. assume there will be crowds there in your time period.

you didn't say the days of the week you will be at UO. i suggest to go on a weekday not weekend. keep the weekend for disney time.

with the 1 y. o. you can baby swap and one adult will be able to ride twice on a ride.

check the height requirement for the rides that you want to take the kids on. make sure they meet them.

the type of rides you want to do will determine what i suggest which park to start at. if you are looking for smaller lines, be at the turnstile at 8:20 for getting in early. crowds will be greater at 11ish at both parks.

you will find more family rides at the studios. ET, animal planet show, earthquake, shrek, jimmy neutron, MIB, etc
start at the park where you know the family would enjoy more of the rides together before you would have to baby swap.

check the map on the UO website for the rides and any restrictions. it is thorough.

i never stay in one park the entire day. start at one park, hope to the other, do lunch, hop back to the first park again. what ever appeals to you.

what are the favorite things your family likes to do?
play area for the kids?
coasters?
family seating entertainment shows?

Thanks everyone for responding. Ok a little info on my trip. We are leaving Miami early Sat and will be visiting my grandparents and aunt in Clermont for most of the day. We are checking in hotel at 3-4pm. We're staying off al properties but will be in Lake Buena Vista area. We are planning on the following parks in no particular order....lol
US, IOA, MGM, AK, Magic Kingdom. We got the passes for Universal and will be getting the 3 day pass for Disney. We are not hopping so that is not an option. One park per day. I'd like to start the parks on Sunday since we'd like Friday to be down time and Sat we are heading back to Miami.
Before I checked the UG this was the schedule I was thinking, but now knowing that its a pretty good idea to go to the Disney parks the day after evening EMH I'm not sure what days to do which park.
Sunday- MGM
Monday-IOA
Tuesday - US
Wednesday - AK
Thursday - MK.

If I'm not mistaken I believe that Sat evening is the EMH for MK. That would mean going to MK on Sunday!!

I don't know. Any opinions???

Also I forgot to add that we are going to all these parks in order to get a taste of everything. We won't be going to Epcot because I did Epcot and only Epcot on my last "trip" there. (It was only for one day).

Also baby swap won't be a problem as we are taking my inlaws with us and FIL will hold baby while the rest of us go on rides.

monday and tuesday will be good days for UO.

what you mentioned about disney touring has come from tour guide mike a paid subscription. it's not a problem to post that on the uo threads, but be careful if you post that on a disney thread. you might get flamed for it.

pull up the disney calender to get the days of the week for early entry.
you probably will have more crowds at the parks on EE days. people go early and stay most of the day. since you are not park hopping, you will have crowds at disney. (check out thursday park early entrance)

i think by staying at LBV you will be at a good location to go back and forth from room to park, either direction.

do take advantage of child swap at universal. one of the adults will be able to ride twice then.

take advantage of the single line ride lanes. it really cuts time off the wait.

hope you have a great trip!

sending you mummy dust for a happy time at universal.

Thanks for the Mummy Dust!!

Actually the info about the parks I got from the Unofficial Guide Book. I've never paid Tour Guide Mike. ;)

I recommend AGAINST the EMH. They shut down the other parks, and they have the one park open, so all the guests come running to the last open park. Not worth the hassle. I would cut either AK, or MGM out of the list and do the other Universal park.
Start in Marvel and do the child swap for rides like Spiderman and Hulk. Then bee-line it to Jurassic Park for the pterradon flyers. They get real busy real quick. Make your way around, and if you hit it early enough you'll still get a 5 minute wait for everything in suess landing.

Thanks everyone for your opinions.

I think we will head to Marvel first and then jump back to Suess. I'd like to get everything in Suess done before my sons midday nap.

Can't wait to go!! :cool1:

that would work too, but I suggest at hitting petredon fliers before heading to seusslanding. It is very slow loading and the line can be over and hr when other lines in the park are only 15 min

I agree that it's wise to do Marvel first. We've seen it so crowded that we literally had to struggle through the crowds to get to Spiderman and that's true particularly when the characters come out.

You'll LOVE IOA, I personally think its the best park in the world out of any of the Disney Parks, Six Flags, anything. It is truely what a theme park should be. Can't wait to get back myself.:thumbsup2

Oh BTW, not that you would probably skip these, but make sure you do Hulk, Spider Man and Jurassic Park River Adventure, those are my favorite. Do everything if you can, but make sure you do those.
