For those that have stayed at these resorts what are the pools like? Heated? I have a 11 and 8 year old. How close to the parks? Looking to relax at the resort at least a few days. Thanks

most of florida you don't need a heated pool.

Marriott will generally have at least one of its pool heated.

was at OL in the spring - so heating was not necessary. - besides the pool with a slide is not deep water by any means. Once the sun gets up it will heat this one. (this is NOT the new pool)

I have stayed at both. The pros of the Horizon - close to Disney, SeaWorld, I-Drive, and the outlets, fairly new resort. The pros of Orange Lake - huge with a lot of activities on site. If you are staying in the new condos you will love the accomodations. I stayed in an older unit and it was fine. The real negative about Orange Lake is that is farther out. They have built a new toll road that lead directly to WDW.

Tough decision. :confused3 I may have confused matters. Good luck. :thumbsup2

Our last trip was in April so I don't think the pools needed to be heated. However we stayed at OL and the pools were awesome, especially the new River Island. We were given a room at the North Village and they were fine.

OL has soooo much to do. And like the PP mentioned, the new toll road provides fast access to Disney.
