Marriott Village

We've stayed at the Courtyard a few times and were very pleased. We chose the Courtyard because the Fairfield is closer to I-4 and some of the Springhill is close as well. We wanted a little quieter location. We've gotten good rates at the Courtyard and they had a good breakfast at the restaurant(some special rates include 2 breakfasts). We saw some tour buses there but I thin k they were at the Fairfield or Springhill so we lucked out there too at the Courtyard.

Ay information on these properties . ?
Anyone better than the rest ?
I wouldn't use Marriott Rewards points (a ridiculous 25,000/night at each property). I also tend to avoid Courtyard as they provide no breakfast even if you have Marriott status.

Does anyone know if they have shuttles to Disney Springs? We decided to fly in the day before our vacation so we are spending one night at the Courtyard.

I ended up calling they said its best to drive yourself to DS.

According to the Mears Taxi Fare Estimator, the estimated cost from the Courtyard at Marriott Village to Disney Springs is $7.06. Even if you have a car, it might be worth jumping in a taxi because you won't have to spend time navigating the parking ramp.

We have a handicapped placard as a member of our party has MS. Is handicapped parking difficult at DS as well?

As far as parking goes, the ramps at Disney Springs are a dream. They let you know how many open spaces are available on each level. And lights above each space let you know from a distance if the space is free. However, on busy days you may get directed to park in overflow lots which will add a few minutes to the process.

That said, I'm sure the handicapped parking is user-friendly and close to the entrances for Disney Springs. Other than a little traffic, getting to Disney Springs from the Marriott Village hotels is very easy.

I just provided the price of the taxi as an additional option. It's particularly appealing if your main interest is the Marketplace section of Disney Springs. I believe that the old bus loop is one of the locations where taxis drop-off/pick-up.

If I remember correctly, the entire bottom level of the DS parking garages is handicapped parking only, so it's really easy to get in and out of.

When parking non-handicapped (my father has a placard because his hip is shot) we usually park in the Strawberry lot, behind Cirque. Most people don't even know it exists. Yes, it's out in the open, but it's not as frustrating as driving through the parking garage can be sometimes.

Springhill Suites is our go-to for shorter trips and we love it. The rooms are a bit bigger - they have a small alcove when you walk in where theres a desk, chair, sink, microwave, and small fridge, as well as a sofa bed. The beds are separated from the alcove by a privacy wall its the perfect size for us. I always find great rates and they offer free breakfast. The downside is the traffic getting out of there in the afternoons (this is isn't really an issue for us because once we come back to the room we typically don't leave again)

My wife and I will be spending New Year's Eve in DS and it looks like the Courtyard Marriott is the most reasonably priced option. Does anyone know if DS is walkable from the hotel? I know it might be a bit of a long walk but with all the expected traffic I'm thinking walking may be our best option.

There are sidewalks. Other than that, sure, you can walk it if you don't mind a relatively long walk alongside a very busy road, as well as walking across the beginning of an entrance ramp. I'd walk to DS from Bonnet Creek if they'd put sidewalks in though, so I'm fine with walking.

You can do a Street View on Google Maps to see your walking path. Just follow along as you move down the street. You can even click on the little walking guy when you get directions to have it show you the walking path. It's about 2 miles, give or take, from the hotel to Disney Springs.

It’s a walkable distance not a walkable Street in my opinion.

Agree. Walkable but not a good idea. You have to cross over a very busy road, expressway on/off ramps, traffic is bad, people dry crazy around there and while I'm usually comfortable walking anywhere, that is not one place I'd want to walk. Mapping it has it at 40 minute walk. If you walk stay on north side of Hotel Plaza Blvd as you have to cross 535 only from that side before heading south.
