Marriott Village Question

We are going to WDW late December, early January. We are checking into a Disney resort on Jan. 1 and taking advantage of the free dining. But for the first 2 nights we need to find a place to stay and we think we'll just stay off site for those 2 nights.

Has anyone ever stayed at one of the Marriott Village hotels? I believe there is a Courtyard, a Fairfield Inn and a Springhill Suites all together. What is it like? Is there anything special there or is it just 3 Marriott properties all together?

We've stayed at the Spring Hill Suites there. My only hesitation would be that the traffic in and out of that area is horrendous because of the outlet mall. Expect to wait more than one light.

You can turn left out of Marriott Village and go to WDW that way, avoiding the backup at the light (necessary at certain times of day!). I noticed that the taxis do this.

Have stayed at all 3 hotels and they are fine. You can pool hop between them too. Keep in mind that both the Springhill and Fairfield have double beds, not queen beds. Courtyards don't give you a free breakfast.

Other area options are the Courtyard and Residence Inn on Palm. This Courtyard has a lot of suite rooms, usually at reasonable prices. I usually stay at the Res. Inn.

the courtyard has an indoor pool (well half the pool is inside half is outside), something you rarely see in Florida.
Also if you find a cheaper rate on a third party site Marriott will match it and discount by 25%. Great way to get a good deal on a hotel room.
