- The final deal is not expected to be complete until sometime mid 2016.
- The deal is not done as it is expected to be examined for anti-trust regulators.
- Swan and Dolphin are not owned by Starwood, but rather a private company.
- Hotels can change brands on their own, lots are changing in Orlando recently so their long term status may not be either brand. (Buena Vista Palace just changed to a Hilton)
- If it does change to Marriott, they will announce a convert date but based on articles I would expect second half of 2016.
Here's a statement provided by a spokesman for the hotel: "The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort continues to operate under Starwood Hotels & Resorts as the many details of this merger with Marriott International are worked out before the deal closes sometime in mid-2016. The hotel will remain the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort, and the current ownership of the hotel will remain the same."
