What are your thought on this property? Is it a hassle to use the Marriott World Centers pool and restaurants. My husband thinks it will be difficult to pack up every time we want to get something to eat or use the large pool. I have heard that it is a short walk to the big pool but when I called the hotel they said it was 10 minutes. I have an 11 and 9 year old who are easy to travel with.

If you walk very slowly from the Sabal Palms vilas that's the furthest away from the main pool at the hotel it could take you 10 minutes but I think you'd really have to try to go that slowly. It's less than half a mile - probably no more than a third of a mile - from the back of the resort to the pool. I walk about a mile in 15 minutes, which might be considered fast, so it would take me around five minutes to cover that distance - your time will depend on how fast you walk (or how fast your 9 and 11 year olds run). The food court is just inside the lower level of the hotel with an entrance from the pool area.

I think it might be a ten minute drive if you took the resort shuttle from Sabal Palms around to the front of the hotel.

Sabal Palms itself is a nice, quiet resort. It doesn't have the features of the larger Marriott timeshare resort and shares some amenities with the other two resorts on the property (Imperial Palm Villas and Royal Palms) as well as the hotel facilities. We liked the resort when we stayed there a couple of summers ago. While we didn't use any of the facilities at any of those other properties, I walked through everything several times and thought that the main hotel pool and other amenities were pretty impressive.

We've stayed here 2 times, and love it. We've never used the big pool, as it seems to be a hassle and we like to spend most of our time at the parks. The rooms are nice enough, king suite with great showers. We like the screen porches for breakfast, and the location of the resort is central to everything.

It's not the same but if you are a Marriott Rewards Member, consider the Marriott Village in Lake Buena Vista about 1/2 mile fro the North Gate leading to Downtown Disney. It's got a Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites all in one location. Decent pools, excellent price, free breakfast for Fairfield Inn, walking distance to 5 restaurants, 1 mile away from the Orlando Premuim Outlest (on same road) and right next to I-4 so that you can be at the park entrances in no time.

My wife and I stay there exclusively and love it.

We found that it definately was a hassle. We stayed at Imperial Plams. Waiting for the shuttle was a pain, lugging all your stuff to the pool was a pain, it was a good 10-15 minute walk, and the world is such a business location that you always found yourseld mixing with people in work suites while you are in your bathing suit. That said, the World pool was amazing.

But remember that both Imperial Palm Villas and Royal Palms are at the northeast part of the property while the hotel and Sabal Palms at at the southwest part. It's almost a mile from Sabal Palms (or the hotel) to the part of the resort where Royal Palms and Imperial Palm Villas are located.

I agree that the internal resort transportation choices from Imperial and Royal aren't great - either a long walk or using the shuttle that goes to the front entrance of the hotel and then the walk through the lobby and down to the pool level. Sabal Palms is tucked in right behind the hotel and is truly close to the pool - no walking through the hotel to get to pools from Sabal.

Personally, I didn't mind walking through the hotel lobby, on my morning walk, in shorts (or swim trunks) and a tee shirt while the suits were wandering around but I did think that the air conditioning was so cold in there that it was a little uncomfortable.
