Hi We came back Sunday from staying here and just thought i'd let everyone know it was really nice. We stayed in building 81 which is near the main pool. Our 2 bedroom was great and furnished nicely. The pool area is beautiful with lots of palm trees. There is a sauna and a hot tub outside. There is a little kiddie pool too and an area wih fountains for the kids. Indoors is a kid's play area and arcade. There is a lake with paddle boats, surrey bikes to rent and regular bikes too. There is also a bar overlooking the lake. We wish we had more time to spend at the resort. We also had breakfast at their reataurant an it was very good. If anyone will be staying here, you won't be disappointed!

are you a member of tug?

then unless you have a membership with II (Interval International) - they now have deals on the getaways - there is always alot to pick from in Orlando and Marriott Grande Vista is generally one.

II members still get a better deal - but hey it you aren't a member tug is where you will find the best deal....

We own a Marriott timeshare and got a free week this year . We used that to book through Interval.Their getaways do look like great deals!

We've never stayed at Grande Vista, but last time we were down they were doing some nice renovating! Am dying to try it! We usually stay at Cypress Harbor... our favorite... big enough but not too big(the resort I mean) and the units are great! No Problems!!!!! We've rented other units but this was by far the best, we've been back 3 x since our first stay! We've also stayed at the Clarion... one in Kiss and one in Buena Vista... bigger units(3bdrms) but not as nice and not as well kept, but still acceptable, especially since we trade a studio for them! No way can I complain! But am looking forward to Grande Vista, maybe next stay!

Spiceycat,

How good are the deals on tug? Is it worth joining, even if one doesn't own a timeshare?

I was wrong - you don't have to be a member of tug to use this site

http://tug.condodirect.com/iw/cs?a=0

do a compare price yourself - all are for weeks (not days)

II members still get a better bargin (and you do need to have a timeshare to join II)

also look here
www.skyauction.com

made sure you add the extra charges before you place a bid on skyauction.

marriott will probably never show up on skyauction - these are generally RCI resorts.

spiceycat,

Wow, those are good rates on tug. I'll remember that for the next vacation. Thanks.

Did you notice the construction?

Can you share any information on what you saw?

Did you see where they are building the new pool? Some people have said that they are going to have a lazy river....did you see anything that would indicate that?

TIA,
Melissa

You can see the construction from the main pool area. All we saw was a building being finished. There was no noise though. The new pool area is going to have a play area but I forget exactly what it's going to be. It's ging to be in the new section they are building. I don't remember the sales rep mentioning a lazy river being built.HTH

I totally agree. Grande Vista is beautiful. We were there for 12/5 for a week, but moved to Boardwalk Villas or I would have never left. It is one of the nicest resorts I have stayed in and this includes all of the DVCs, Cypress Harbour, Vistana, Cypress Pointe, and most of the timeshares in Hilton Head, SC including Grande Ocean. This place is just beautiful. It is definitely on my list of places to stay even though it is not onsite.

We just purchased one of those units that is under construction. We stayed at Cypress Habour in October, but purchased at Grande Vista pre-construction. We may be going back in October to Grande Vista if our request for Myrtle Beach doesn't come through.

Crabmeal - you said that one building is almost complete? I can't wait to see it done.

I would have to agree with BeckyV....it is the nicest place around. The grounds are beautiful and the villas are fantastic, inside and out. It may be a little bigger than what we were looking for, the entire complex I mean, but still the nicest I've seen.

TTFN,
Maria

Hi Tigger Is Myrtle Beach open already? My DH wanted to buy a second week at Grand Vista but I wasn;t ready to commit to the money part yet. We are planning to go back in 2005 so I hope the new section is totally finished then. I can't wait to go back!
