Hi everyone! Has anyone stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista recently? We are considering this place for an extra long weekend in early december and am curious as to your opinions of this hotel. Is the pool area small/big/nice? How is the complimentary breakfast buffett? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated as the website is very limited. Thanks in advance

We stayed here in nov. 2001 and they hadn't been open long at all. We loved the room. We had a 2 bedroom with one king in the master ( with master bath) and then you walk through the living room to get to the 2nd bedroom with had 2 Qweens and another bathroom. Lots of room. Also liked the full free breakfast, they rotated the meats and some days were better than others but it was kept clean and neat when we were there. And that is a plus in my book.

The ONLY thing we didn't like and the ONLY reason we haven't been back here is that the pool was NOT heated. And it was an iceburg. We were there in Nov. for 10 days and my kids love to swim. We had sceduled 3 non-park days ( avoiding thanksgiving crowds and relaxing) and we couldn't swim at all. In the whole 10 days we never saw one person in the pool and we were at the hotel alot with afternoon breaks. We always go this time of year and plan our swims for the warmest part of the day but it was not doable. As we ate a late breakfast one day we watched a family from the window who brought all there junk down to the pool then sat and then lathered the kids with sunblock and then put there feet in, got back out and hauled all there junk back to the room. However, the pool area looked very nice and there is a hot tub with some rock themeing.
The only other thing I can add is that we had a room that faced Int. 4 and could hear a slight amount of road noise. When at disney we are hard sleepers and it wasn't anything bad at all. But, you could ask for a pool view as that would be a room not facing the int. The location is great I think and i would love to go back if they would just heat that darn pool! :D
Sorry to ramble and hope some of this helps. If all you need is a hot tub you will be fine. Can I ask if you found a great rate here?

Hey LisaRay, thanks for your detailed info-that was exactly what I needed to know. My little ones are big time swimmers too and we like to swim as much as possible. The rate is no big deal 109/1 bedroom suite/night including the breakfast but I thought for the location and the room size it seemed to be good value for the bucks. The other hotel I am looking at is the Marriott Grand Vista which has a constuction special on for 97/king size studio/night. They guarantee all 3 of their pools are heated but you never know!!! What one person considers heated another may freeze in! I guess we got to stay somewhere, there is just so much choice in Orlando! Thanks again for your reply
