Marriott Orlando World parking

Has anyone stayed here recently?? Just curious if there is self parking there or if I need to pay the $14 valet every day. I don't mind walking a bit to avoid the charge.

I read on Flyertalk that they have recently initiated a $5 per day self parking charge.

According to their website the fee is $8 for self parking and $15 for valet.

that is expensive - considering you can't walk to a theme park from this resort.

like the Universal resorts - which also charges for self parking

I believe the hotel also charges for the shuttle bus to Disney.

Personally I find the shuttle busses a real hassle. We stayed at AKL and drove everywhere just because it was easier. WIth a 3 yo, we need to be flexible with our coming and going times, so a car is our best bet. I just can't fathom paying to park your own car at a hotel that's on 200 acres.

FYI self parking is a LONG walk. VERY long and longer if you have alot of luggage. Stopped staying there years ago, that hotel is just too massive.

Great resort, wonderful pools and landscaping. BUT, the walk from the parking lot to the resort itself is sooooo long, especially after walking in the parks all day, the last thing you want is an even longer walk to get to your room. All in all, IMHO that is the only thing wrong with this resort. We stay there often, when not on-site and just love this resort. Its just beautiful and the pools can't be beat.
