Marriott Orlando World Convention Center

Hi all,
Just got back from Disney last week. While we were there (stayed at Carribean Beach Resort), we went and looked at the Marriott Orlando World Center. It looks beautiful and exactly what my husband and I are looking for for a short vacation in June. Has anyone stayed here and what are your opionions of it. We won't be going to any parks, we are just looking for a nice "Resort" to veg out at the pool for a few days and get a bunch of sun. The price is very comparable to WDW moderates but at MOWC breakfast would be included in the rate ($174 p/n).

it got a large rehab - in 2006 & 2007 - so it should be in good shape.

The World is a great resort. The only problem would be that they mix a lot of business travelers (there is a convention center there) along with the standard vacationers at the food court, ect, and if you are not comfortable with that (as we weren't) be prepared. The pool on the other hand is the best.

I stayed there with my 3 kids in March 2000. (Wow - how time flies!) It's a beautiful hotel, and as mentioned, the pool is wonderful!

We stayed there last weekend. It was great. Beautiful pool, flat screen tv's, wonderful beds. The only downside was the parking. It's $12.00 a day to self park and the lot is very far away. They do offer a shuttle, but it's still an inconvenience to have to return to your car. We were in the East Tower and had a great view of Illuminations and Wishes!

Hi - We stayed there a couple of years ago & thought it was a lovely hotel. The staff were brilliant & the pool was lovely. You do have to be prepared for alot of business people as it is a conference centre. We did not have any problems at all. Lots of different restaurants etc to choose from.

Only downside was that as none of us wanted to drive & therefore we had to take taxi's everywhere as nothing was in walking distance (we like to walk to work off some of the food!!!)
