In June are staying 3 nights at Marriott World Center before checking into the Contemporary. On one of those days, we are planning to go to Hollywood Studio to try to do Star Wars things. Our boys are very Star Wars oriented. We have another DHS day reserved after we check into the CR, but wanted to have two chances at RotR and to give ourselves time to explore. On the day we leave the Marriott (a Saturday), we have reservations for Epcot. I thought that was probably a decent option given that it opens later in the day. (We also have another Epcot day reserved after we are fully settled in at Epcot, later in the week.)

For Marriott to DHS, does anyone have experience with the hotel shuttles? It looks like you need to make a reservation. How convenient or inconvenient is this? Has anyone done lyft/uber instead? I am trying to decide which makes more sense. We will try to get a boarding group for RotR at 7 am, and then head to the park depending on what happens. If we don't, it is less of a rush, and if we do but we aren't riding for awhile, we also can probably be more relaxed about it (which may make the shuttle fine). How far is it really on the shuttle vs lyft/uber? Googlemaps distance is one thing, but that doesn't always reflect what people experience. I don't know where you would be dropped off and have to walk to, for example. We have only ever walked over to DHS from the Epcot resort area.

For heading from Marriott World Center to the Contemporary, I was thinking we would just pile our kids and stuff into a cab or uber and drop the bags at the hotel, and then head to Epcot. If we can get checked in early, great, but we aren't expecting our room to be ready super early. We can also maybe sleep in a little and aim to get out of the hotel around 9. Does this sound right?

And does anyone have thoughts or recs about the Marriott World Center specifically? It looks like they have an interesting pool area and some familyl activites there, and Disney Springs isn't far. Do their Disney shuttles go to Disney Springs?

Thanks so much for any help!

You will love the World Center, great pool area. We have always used Uber when staying offsite, its very easy and you can go on your own timeline. That makes it worth the $10-$15 for us each way.

Thanks so much, GoofyDad! Of course now I am wondering whether to switch hotels... I was sold on World Center - largely because of the pool! But I just read about the expanded pool and water area at Gaylord Palms. I have a feeling either would be lots of fun for the kids.

Thanks again!

I believe I may have posted this on another of your threads, but we were actually trying to decide between MWC and Gaylord Palms about a month ago. After reading some reviews, I saw that the pool was closed at MWC. It was not mentioned anywhere online.
I called the hotel to inquire, and the person that answered said it was closed for “emergency repairs.” She said the company that was repairing the pool couldn’t give them a date when it would be open but she was assuming it would be June or July.
You may want to call and ask if you were thinking about pool time.

The emergency repairs seem to have been going on for quite awhile now. It seems a little weird to me. They have some cool other features at the hotel, but the kids would be incredible disappointed if that pool wasn't available. We are reserved at the Gaylord right now, although we could always switch if there is still availability. I thought Gaylord looked like a fun alternative for them, especially with the water park area.
