I received an invitation in the mail to spend 4 nights at this resort for $199. Travel must be between now and june of 2006. The 90 minute timeshare presentation is a must. Has anyone done this before or stayed at this resort. I would welcome your opinions.

We stayed there this past April and paid th $229/night for 2BR villa rack rate. We LOVED it! They offered us $200 off if we did the tour, but actually my husband's boss was paying and we didn't want any high-pressure part of our vacation. We loved the resort and our room was great, it was a remodeled one in the Magellan building which was a great location near the main pool. We did a few activities and enjoyed the pools. I think the deal you got sounds like a steal! The only thing I didn't love about the GV was the location, even though my husband loved how it was more "out of the way", but sometimes it bugged me since we were going to the Disney parks and it was kind of a hike.

The place is beautiful! We loved it, and actually wanted to hear the presentation. (thinking about buying one on the resale market)
anyway, the morning of our presentation, we were involved in a car accident coming back from breakfast. We were hit broadside buy a truck.

The accident was right in front of the offices . They were so nice to us. It took 3 hours for the police to respond, the folks at the Marriot told us not to worry about doing the tour. We had 3 days left, so they could have pushed u s to do another day, but were great about it.

We finally made it to MGM around 4pm,v ery sore, but happy not to be really hurt.

Where we waited for the police to finish was where the sales part was ending for the other people doing the tours. From what I saw, there was very little high pressure. lots of information, not alot of pressure. I have been to a few of these things, and this one didn't seem to be too bad, at least the part I heard.

The place is really nice, if you go , you will definately enjoy the stay. It is a hike though to WDW.

We returned from our 2nd vacation there in April - we loved it. You'll be very happy here, go for it! :)

Hubby and I did the time share presentation there last year in August. It was totally worth it. I am cheap and usually don't stay at nicer places. It was nice. We had already finished most of our time at the World and were just relaxing, so staying at a resort was nice.

The sales pitch wasn't too bad. Definately a little bit of pressure, but we were expecting it. What was better about it was that it showed us around the resort so we could really spend the rest of the time enjoying it.

Hope the info helps.

We stayed there in March. It's a beautiful property, and they have a great game room/ play area for younger kids.

We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

we are staying there in august and stayed at one of their other properties-cypress something 3 years ago. They are spectacular properties. We did the sales pitch there and there was a little pressure-not too much, they stayed in their 90 minutes and we got a $150.00 room credit. I wish we were sent that deal, It is a steal and I would book again for winter break at that price! As far as being far from the park goes, I guess those other guys are used to staying on property or something. It was no big deal. go for it!

DO IT!!! This is a steal for this price and the presentation is not really a pressure thing at all. The place is BEAUTIFUL and there is a whole lot to do. You may even get tickets out of the deal...

Marriott is a soft-sell and their folks are very professional. We bought Marriott in Maui and couldn't be happier. They'll know very quickly how interested you are an cut your tour short if it doesn't appear a sale is likely. There will probably be a number of other cash, credit, or other offers once you are on property.

I've never thought twice about sending a referral to friends or family.

Grande Vista is a really nice resort. Their other properties in the area are very intriguing.

LOVE ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH MARRIOTT!!!

Stayed at many mariott vacation resorts

loved the grande vista.

very clean, great location and clean, clean, clean

but think Iwould like to try Mariott Horizons next time

looks fantastic!

Dsis and the nieces are at MGV right now, and we are joining her on Wednesday! Although I prefer the villas at Cypress Harbor, my sister, BIL, and their kids just love MGV. They have the timeshare but often don't use it. Instead they bank their points and use them at different, "cheaper" times of the year, getting several weeks worth of stay for the one trade-in. I don't understand how it works, but there is more here than meets the eye and VERY well worth the investment. Right now, they had reserved the 1br villa (full LR, DR, kit, separate MBR with jacuzzi, full bath, private screened patio) but for $79 FOR THE WEEK upgraded to a 2br villa, so in addition to above we have a studio lock-out (door opens off DR of main villa AND has own private entrance) so we also have full bathroom, kitchenette w/small fridge, coffeepot, and microwave, 2Q beds, table and chairs, sleep-sofa, and a 2nd patio! They used some of their banked points for the original ressie and won't take any $$$ to cover the upgrade, so we get to stay *free* for our 1st three nights in Florida! Dsis and BIL have never for a moment regretted their ownership. I remember when they did the original tour (cheap 5 nite rate and a 4day PH pass to WDW); very low-pressure, no nagging phone calls, etc. THey had already decided to buy the timeshare but it was so easy I almost did it too (good thing DH wasn't with me...!). ANyhow, Marriott gets 2 thumbs WAY up for their presentation AND their resorts!

Which is new grand vista or cypress harbour? Which one would you pick?

Grande vista is newer. They are both beautiful properties. We had a 2 br in both places the 2 br at grande vista was more luxurious w/ a bigger 2nd br with a kitchenette and it's own bathroom, and patio. I would be very happy at either though :flower:

Thank you for responding, I do not know very much about either resort. Knowing that the grand vista is newer we would most like stay there. Does the room come with a full kitchen? I also am glad that you told me the second bedroom is bigger because 2 of my sons will stay there. I forgot to ask about the pools. I would probably ask for a newer unit, how is that pool area. Thanks again :flower:

my parents got that invitation (except it was 6 nights / 7 days for $299, something like that) with the intention of woo hoo cheap hotel right next to seaworld!! they ended up loving it so much that we're owners there now. it's really worth it, and they went to the presentation early in the morning (7:00 i think?) when I was 13 or 14 and my brother was like 8, so we were still asleep and they were back in time to wake us up & head over to the magic kingdom. :earsboy:

We will pick grand vista because it is newer. How many pools and what is each pool area like. My husband decides on properties depending on the pool. Also, do the rooms have a full kitchen? thank you

We were just there in November. The pools are very nice. No slides though. There are some fountain/water fall type features. The main pool had several pool areas...a wading pool, a lap pool with handicap access, a sauna right there. However this pool did not 'seem' heated to us. Very pretty..and when we were there plenty of seats.

The "new" pool area has 'water cannons' for the kids to shoot...a graduated entry at one point with sprinkler type things for the kids. This pool was heated and is where we spent most of our pool time.

There are also some 'quiet' pools that I did not see.

I have pictures of the main pool..but I have no clue as to how to post them here.

HTH!

We just got a christmas card from them today for 4 nights, 5 days plus $100 in theme park tickets for $199.00!! Yee Haaa! I think we are going to try and book it for next year during the holidays and give the trip to our kids for chistmas!
