Does anyone have any advice on the Marriott Cypress Harbor or Horizons by Marriott for a brief post-cruise stay with dd's, ages 3 and 6? the pirate pool gets good reviews at Horizons, but the overall ratings are lower-any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks. :D

Hi We actually have stayed at Marriott Cypress, Marriott Grand Vista and Marriott's Horozins. We own two Marriott time shares. One at Ocean Point in Palm Beach Shores directly on the beach. We love that time share. We use it every year.
The other one we bought is Marriott Horizions about 3 years ago. We have stayed their once and traded since. We did LOVE it when we stayed there almost 3 years ago. The time share was under a lot of construction. The pirate ship was there and the water park. DD was 4 years and 9 months. DS was only 6 and a half months. DD loved the pirate ship, childrens activities and the mini water park. DS was to young. We have not been there since. We just stayed at Marriott Grand Vista on 12/31-1/4/05 and our unit I was not thrilled with. It was far from the main pool. The dining room glass table-underneath the glass was filthy. We also had broken glasses in our cabinet. We must of had one of the older units. I was told next time to request the units near the main pool. We have not been to Cypress in over 4 years. We did like it when we were there. I did hear though that Grand Vista had more to offer the children. They do have a great indoor play area. Reminds me the the climbing gym you see at McDondald's. They have children's activites but we were to busy at Sea World. Grand Vista is about 1 mile from Sea World. We only stayed 4 nights as we stayed two nights at WDW as well. We went on the 4 night 1/4/05 Magic to end our trip. It was an awesome ending. My children are now -DD almost 8 and DS was 3.7 months. They loved the play area and pool at The Marriott Grand Vista. DD needs down time as she can not handle all day parks. I wish I could give you more on Horozins but we were there a while ago. Gail

very dificult choice...

with your children's ages I would say Horizons - just because they will appreciate it more.

however you will appreciate Cypress Harbour more.

tough choice.

I am not much help either.

I agree with Marriott Grande Vista - I also complainted about the dirty hall ways and the quiet pool was also dirty....

I got told they were working on and they refused to clean the hall - say it didn't help it. Complaint to II if you can -they can do something about it -

We stayed at Cypress harbor last year and toured the horizon's resort. They are both nice. Horizons has more of a small children approach. I have children that are 5, 12, and 15. CH has more for everyone I feel so we are going back again this year. The other advantage to CH is it is quieter. Horizons is right next to Rt 4 so you can hear it. Also, the rooms are smaller in horizons but CH is older and shows that in some areas.
