Well, we just wrapped up our forth visit to Marriott’s Cypress Harbor and we couldn’t have been happier. We’ve stayed at many of the Orlando Timeshares and we like CH the best. Everything was up to the high standards we expect and there were a few nice improvements. Last year the clubhouse pool was being redone when we visited. This year we were able to enjoy the results and they were great. The Pool area has new stonework and all the decks were redone in the new trex material. Marriott always goes the extra mile with the details and just redoing the deck was an example. They installed a beautiful compass rose made out of different colored trex right in a large area of the deck. Very impressive. They had put up a lot of colored shade fabric pieces that look both artistic and provide shade. An artist had come in and added paintings of colorful frogs and waterscapes. Again, they just add up to a top notch environment. Other improvements included redoing the game room with all new arcade games and adding new pedal boats. My 8YO and I rented a duck. They built a new, larger tamiya remote control car track which my 15YO son enjoyed. They have completely redone the activity schedule and added many new activities for both adults and children. There were Wii competitions, Guitar hero 3, and rock band. My 15YO son had a great time with the other teenagers doing these and made friends with all the staff. My 8YO daughter enjoyed many activities included a pancake baking and many crafts. My wife and I tried out a yoga activity on Wednesday morning which was very interesting. We were in Orlando for 8 full days and spent 6 of them at the resort. The staff was great and very friendly. We had a remodeled room as we before. It was clean and everything was new with the exception of the spa tub and the bathroom countertop. My son brought his PS3 with him and thanks to the free in room high speed internet was able to get to the web to do his homework and even play a few online games with his buddies back home in CT. Again, we love this resort because it is just the right size, beautiful, great location, and has something for everyone. We look forward to our next visit. Let me know if you have any questions.

Nice report. We check into Cypress Harbour on Sunday. I can't wait! Usually they e-mail me with our requests since we are Marriott owners, but I haven't gotten anything yet from them. Maybe it's because we booked a II Getaway this time instead of exchanging in. But I did call the front desk and make note that I wanted a refurbished unit with the Marriott revive bedding.

You know, now that you mention it our bed was very comfortable. We may have had one of those new mattresses. We were in building 51 overlooking the lake and i like a high floor (4) with the great view. The lake at night with the lit water fountain is just great. I wish i was back there.

We were in Building 51 in December and it was great. We could see fireworks from our front window over the lake - beautiful. We had a 1st floor, but still had a decent view. It's such a peaceful resort.

I'm pretty certain that all of the buildings have been renovated with the possible exception of 55 as there have been some workers in and out of that building as I've walked by this week. The major reno effort is going on in building 73 or 72 (I can't remember which one it is) - the building is closed and appears to be under the process of being gutted with lots of pods in the area with new fixtures. From what I understood there are only a couple of buildings left to be refurbished.

Thanks Jeff great review. I think this may be the week for us to get some major R & R, sounds like the place to do this.

Hi Dick,

Do you know if most units have the Marriott Revive mattresses in them? I've heard not all units have them yet.

Hi! We're staying there in April, so I'm so happy to hear how nice it is. Wondering if we are able to request certain buildings? And if so, which would you recommend for us to be near a good pool for our 6 year old daughter? I'm thinking the "island" pool, but I don't know... any help would be appreciated.

TIA!

Yes, you can request a building and there are always buildings near the different things that might interest you. You could get a building near the island pool which would be a shorter walk to the activity center. We like building 51 which is closer to the clubhouse pool and the tennis courts and we play tennis. It also has a great view of the lake. Some of the buildings are farther away if you want quiet. All of them are within walking distance to everything, it just depends ho long of a walk that you want. Don't forget, there is a third quiet pool if you want that.

Good luck.
