Just called dvc to try to swap my Hawaii exchange and Marriott Aruba Surf Club was available for late october, which was one of my choices but only a studio.

I swapped 144 (mid season one bed points) for my two bed Hawaii exchange, so I'm a little uncertain about giving out those points for a studio. Do I take it or hold out for something better.

The dvc cm i spoke to was unhelpful and would not hold the reservation for an hour whilst i decided (don't mean to sound sexist, but whenever i get a male dvc cm on the phone, i'm frequently tempted to hang up, as they all seem to be extremely unhelpful in comparison to the women. He insisted Upthat i can only swap to a studio, as i trades 134 points, which is a studio - but i have the confirmation in front of me that says i traded 144 points and the chart in front of me that says that this would give me a one bedroom mid season.

Do I accept the studio, or hold out for a one bed at one of my choices on a waitlist? I have picked several resorts in the Caribbean that i would love to trade to over a three week timeframe, and whilst i love the sound of Marriott Aruba, not so keen on a studio. It's my honeymoon, so i want it to be nice. What are my chances of getting a one bed for late October, early november 06? Thank you.

Update - I called DVC back and got an extremely helpful CM (a woman). She said this was a good trade and they don't get many marriott's showing, but marriott gave DVC quite a lot of inventory today. For anyone else wanting to trade - they did have other marriott aruba weeks available in October and November.

I would disagree about this time of year in Aruba being a good exchange. And one clarification, II doesn't give inventory to DVC, it simply goes in the pool for all eligible II members to access. And NEVER trust DVC for what is a good exchange. Not that they don't try, they just simply don't have the knowledge or experience of the timesharing world.
