Marriot Rewards Members get Disney tickets!!! YIPPEE!!!!

Just found out we can get our Disnet tickets by using some of our reward points.

So now, instead of staying at a Marriott and buying our tickets we can stay at Disney and use our points to get the tickets!!!

You have been able to use Marriott Rewads points for WDW tickets for some time. We never bothered because it does not seem to be the most efficient use of points. For example, for our family we'd need 2 adult and 1 child park hopper. Assume we are going for 5 days/nights. The park hoppers using points would require 155,000 points. That would free up about $130 a night to spend on a WDW hotel. For that you could probably get a moderate. The Courtyard in the Disney Village would require 95,000 points. So, you have used 60,000 more points - but you are in a WDW moderate hotel vs the Courtyard. Still, 60,000 points is a lot of points. Also, for 165,000 (10,000 more than the tickets would require) we could get 7 nights in the Courtyard in the Disney Village and 2 round trip airline tickets. However, if you have a lot of points available and you look at it as an opportunity to stay in a WDW on site property when you wouldn't otherwise it might not be a terrible idea.
