Marriot Grand Vista

It's on I-drive midway between the stop light at Central Florida Parkway (the street with the main entrance to SeaWorld) and the next stop light towards Disney at Westwood Bd (where I-drive goes from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, 7-11 on the corner). The resort is not particularly visible from I-drive - it's set back quite a bit. The resort entrance is at a glass office building housing Marriott Vacation Club offices/sales center.

dvc_john---you seem to know a lot about Grand Vista.....have you been there? Can you share any thoughts of the resort?? Distance to WDW? Cleanliness? "Classyness"? Planning a trip down with my parents, my family, and my brothers family and need all the info I can get! Thanks so much!

Yes, I've been there 4 or 5 times.
As mentioned, it's on I-drive, but a rather quiet section of I-drive. Very close to SeaWorld, and really a pretty easy and quick drive to WDW, and also Universal. If there is any problem at all about the location, it might be that you have to make a left turn onto I-drive to go to WDW.
The resort is really nice. Has 2 major swimming pool areas (multiple pools at each location), and 2 quiet pool areas. There is a marketplace, with some groceries, a deli, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks. There is a Nick Faldo golf course on site.
Most units will have either a pool, pond, or golf course view. The balcony is mostly off the master bedroom, but has access from the living room also. It's a screened balcony. The master bedroom will also have a whirlpool tub and separate shower.
The buildings are 5 to 6 stories, with an elevator in each building. Overall, the resort is pretty large.
It has been built in phases over the years. The very newest building are pretty much reserved for Grand Vista owners. The older units are currently being refurbished. I'm not sure how far along they are with the process, but if you go, be sure to ask for a refubished unit. The new decor is very nice and classy, while the old decor is a bit dated.

definitely ask for a rehab or new (these are only for Marriott owners) unit.

If they put you in an older section that has not been rehab you are going to hate it. They are dirty!!!!

each Marriott is independent owned. and it is up to the owner at each property to how the rehab is done.

this Marriott is only boring with the rehab and new units. the ones yet to be rehab are in bad shape.
