Hi all, we are doing an exchange in November at the Marriot Beach Towers in Ft. Lauderdale, has anyone ever been there? Thanks

I live here and Rich lives here too, if it's Beach Place, it's real nice, right on A1A and Las Olas Blvd.V

Reviews have been mixed. Overall it appears to be a top notch place but concerns about mattresses, upkeep, noise and elevators seem common.

We had friends that stayed at the Mariott Vacation Club in Ft. Lauderdale two years ago and they said it was wonderful. We just got back from staying at the Mariott Vacation Club in Palm Beach and it was really nice. We did go by the place in Ft. Lauderdale on our way to the airport and it looked beautiful from the outside. One complaint we had about the vacation club in Palm Beach was the mattress. We said if you threw a coin on it, it would bounce and hit the ceiling they were so hard! But it was beautiful. How many points does it take to exchange for the one in Ft. Lauderdale?

How long did you stay at the Marriott in Palm Beach, and how many points were needed for the exchange?

We are staying at Marriott Palm Beach in August and then on to OKW. Is Palm Beach on beach? Is it Like Grande Vista in Orlando? Gave 4 nite and 5 day special in one bedroom for $199. Look forward to cooling off in ocean before we hit WDW in hot August!

thanks all for help, am looking forward to it but doesn't sound like i will be sleeping very well it is 98 pts for one week in november a studio which is supposed to be like DVC as far as the amenities. It is right on the ocean w/ a private balcony etc. thanks again for the responses

Stayed at Marriott's Ocean pointe this past summer and though it was nice, we were disappointed. It didn't come up to our Marriott expectations. Not much for activities, especially for teens. Not much personality it seemed. I'm sure it'll be better once more of the resort is built, I know they've completed the second building by now and I'm sure they're working on the third.

You are right Dean, they are working on the third. They started every morning at 8:00 and worked until 5:00, pounding and pounding and pounding. We were there with another couple and thought the activites were fair. I heard from some of the owners they had added more. I did the water arobics and yoga and bingo!! It is right on the beach, however, the ocean front is for the owners. The beach is not much of a walking beach, which we missed. We did not do an exchange, we were looking at it, however, since we just bought since we got home at OKW, I think that will have to go on the back burner. The one in Ft. Lauderdale is not right on the ocean, but you can see the ocean. I have not seen the one in Orlando, but we did get an invitation to it. It also looks nice.

sorry all, i realize its not on the ocean, they say there is an under ground tunnel to get to the beach across the street. I actually got excellant reviews from the CM at DVC services on this. she went in November and really loved it. We figured we would try it out after being at the world so many times in the past few yrs.

I think you will love it. My friends said it was beautiful. There are some wonderful eating places in Ft. Lauderdale. Enjoy!!!! :)

Thanks Diane, I hpe so, although I'm a little nervous w/ it not being a DVC property. We certainly get spoiled when we are home. I guess I will have to take my chances. We have a DD who is three yrs old and I heard from MS that they have a great childrens rec room there w/ an activities director for kids. Wish us luck ;)
