Married at Disney

Hello,
I'm new and I'm not a bride so forgive me but I am trying to get information about getting married at or near Disney in an affordable way. My brother would like to get married there. He thought this would be a cool way to surprise his fiancee. The Disney Intimate package sounds nice but it does not include a lot for the price. Also, who officiates over these weddings. Is that something we arrange seperately? Are there other routes to take in the Disney area? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Obviously price is an issue for them. They would already be spending a lot to travel and stay at Disney. I know they would just like to have a small yet beautiful intimate wedding with just their closest friends and family. I know the feeling...I did get married at Disney the first time..but this time my fiance did not want to do the same ...which I totally understand but I am a total disney nut...so he agreed to get married on the beach and stay @ Disney... great compromise in my eyes... but I would suggest emeraldbeachweddings.com Patty is incredible! They will go all over. She is a professional photographer and our whole package on the beach w/photography and flowers...is only $450! we're getting married @ sunset

well you have 2 options for Disney wedding:
1) disney fairy tale wedding which starts at $2450(?) for 2006. 4 outdoor location, please check their website for details. but what they must pay extras are a) 4 night stay at any disney resorts and, b) officiant (religious or civil) they wish to have, I believe most costs around $175. So the real minimum for a intimate wedding would be roughly $3000.

2) swan wedding at the swan and dolphin hotel. NOT related to Disney but they are on the Disney property. http://swandolphin.com/nonflash/weddings/weddings.html which is done through JustMarry Inc. NO photography, no limo service, no hotel stay requirement. Standard package starts at $2200, but adding photography etc etc can cost around $3000 as well. Only 2 locations to choose from.

There ARE alt. destination wedding outside Disney, but I never researched those. Leu Garden(?) and other fine Orlando resorts have wedding packages too and should be cheaper than Disney. hope the well informed brides here can help on that part.

So yes..it'll depend on what type of wedding your brother wants. "disney" or "orlando"

IMO to save money is to have a budget wedding outside disney and make disney a honeymoon destination instead.

also timing is everything...as read through here, everything gets booked fast.
