I know a few day folks at work in Las Vegas and they want to go to WDW next spring. Because I go and am a DVC member, they asked me to ask about the wedding chapel.

Now I told them marriage was not legal AT ALL in Florida so getting married is out of the question, but is there any services they can enjoy when they go?

Many thanks to all that answer!

From what I've read, you can still do whatever you like in Florida. They won't deny anyone having a ceremony, saying vows, whatever you feel like including, you just can't legally sign a marriage license. Just do the licensing before/after having the ceremony and you can still have the ceremony you'd want to have. Except, you know, the part where you're respected enough to not have to jump through a hoop. But the rest will be fine.

Disney didn't used to allow same-sex ceremonies at the Wedding Chapel. However, as long as you have a marriage license from your home state, they now allow you to have your ceremony there. (You have to go through whatever legal process is required back home - if your state requires a certified officiant, you will have to get "married" by one at home, either before or after the ceremony in Florida.)

We had our wedding ceremony at Disney, but they called it a commitment ceremony. We did the legal part at home in DC but there was no difference from what they did for us than they would do for anyone else. It's a little pricey but we were very happy with everything.

I showed my friends this thread. They left after the dinner party with a huge smile on their. Thanks for all the help you folks!
