Hi all! Hope all is going well with your wedding planning! :goodvibes

I have a question for all of you Florida Residents:
How did you get your marriage license? I can't seem to find anything on Orange County's web page that tells me if I can do it by mail or not.
Since we will be going up less than 3 days before the wedding, I can't get it then (we have to wait 3 days before it's valid).

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate hearing them!
Thanks :bride:

there are companies that will arrange your license by mail, if you google it i'm sure something'll come up, i cant remember the name of the company that does it off the top of my head. you can get them by mail but i think they charge around $100 on top of the price of the license itself

Don't quote me on this, but I believe I was told that you could apply for your marriage license in any FL county courthouse....I plan on going to Broward Cty. for mine!!! Also, I think there is a 3-day waiting period for FL residents that doesn't apply to out-of-state residents (go figure!) I'd double-check this info though...
Hope this helps!!! :thumbsup2

The only county that offers license by mail is Brevard County. Unfortunately, they only do this service for out-of-state brides. Some companies also offer this service, but it gets pretty expensive.

And Mary is right: you don't need to the license in Orange County. You could do it in Broward or Palm Beach or wherever you are down there. Other things to think about though: you have to get a wedding license within 60 days of getting married, and if you're in-state you have to wait three days before you can perform the ceremony. Make sense?

Hope that helps!

Wow, thanks so much for your responses!
I'm so glad I don't have to go through Orange County. I'll just wait until May and get it from Broward.
Thanks!
Natalie

My fiance is from Brazil - we had on DFTW planning session back in Sept. and we are to get married next month - my reverend is Kirk Bane. My DF wants to go ahead and get our marriage license here in MS and get "married" on paper so we can start some paperwork that needs to be filed so he can continue working before his work visa expires while we are in Disney getting married.

I mean, I not telling a sole here that we did this because I do not want it to take away from the Disney Fairty Tale Wedding I always dreamed. We we get the license, get it signed and that will be it. When we get to disney we will let them know we have our license from MS and it is signed. It should not be a big deal .... right?
