Marriage License query

Hello

I know i do have ages yet but i believe our May 2010 trip out to the states to get married falls on the memorial day weekend.

We are hoping to set our date for the weds after the memorial day weekend. Does anyone know if the marriage license office will be open on the monday before our wedding or is that a bank holiday?

If the office is closed on the monday, are we ok to leave it as late as the day before the wedding to get our license?

If I'm looking at the calendar correctly, that would be a June 2 wedding day?

Monday May 31 will be a holiday here in the states and the government offices will most likely be closed.

You can try to get there on June 1 (Tuesday, the day before your wedding) but I'm not sure if you are comfortable with that. Or you can try going through the mail (not sure how reliable that is outside of the US).

Maybe one of the other UK brides has some other suggestions!

Hi Hiwaygirl,

No sorry we are hoping to be married on May 26th 2010, i thought Mon 24th May would be memorial day.

If it's May 31st that will be my 30th birthday!!

Will it be difficult to get booked up for reservations and are the parks normally busy on memorial day? I wanted to do something special in Florida for my 30th!

Ive never been to florida that late in May before.

Well, then...the offices will most likely be open on the 24th! So you're all set there!

As for the Memorial Day crowds, I really don't know. I'm sure it's crowded (any holiday usually is).

Just be sure to call at the 180 day mark to request any special reservations you want, that will help make sure you get what you want.

You can always get the license through the mail in advance so you dont even have to go to the court... just got to the website fill out the form and send it in. Brevard county- this is the website
