It was hot---more hot and humid that day than I remember it ever being at WDW. Add pregnancy to that and you're ready to melt! After walking quickly around the lagoon (the long way) Rose and Crown tried to seat us outside. I was so beet red and dripping with perspiration I thought I was literally going to collapse. The hostess was apologetic (she could see my condition and knew how hot it was) but she could not tell us when we could be seated inside. We knew you can almost always snag a seat at Marrakesh because people aren't familiar with the food so we walked there straight away to get out of the heat. We had eaten there last year and while we had enjoyed it --Marrakesh wasn't supposed to be in our plans for another couple of years. We were seated right away and brought cold glasses of mint iced tea. I think they saved my life with those refreshing beverages and their A.C.!
Four of us ordered the Marrakesh Feast. They allowed us to substitute the Harira Soup (which was not our favorite last year) for the Jasmina Salad. We liked that so much more! Even thought the menu clearly says you get Beef Brewat Roll"s" (plural) they only bring you one. There was some confusion because even though my sons were seated clear at the other end of the table-- they put the Brewat Rolls in front of DH and myself. We assumed we would get 2 each since the menu said roll"s". Well, we ate them all. They are pretty good. They remind me of the beef rolls at Jiko. My sons never got any. When we pointed out to the server what the menu said he said it was a misprint. No attempt to make it right. I really wish he would have at least taken the boys' rolls down to them and placed them in from them instead of us. I felt guilty for eating them.
The lemon chicken and beef shish kebab were wonderful. (Better than I remembered!) Their couscous is the best! The assorted pastry portion of the feast is basically 3 different types of Baklava. Very good just as we remembered!
Last year I was pulled out to dance. (Which I did like a good sport.) This year DS 5 and DS 15 were both asked but declined. Belly dancing is just not their thing, I guess!
My DH wants to report that the Moroccan coffee reminded him of Pine Sol. He would gladly have taken the dreaded Nescafe over that coffee!
