My family and I went to the Lights Festival in Chicago yesterday. FYI- Mitchell Musso concert was great. Radio Disney had a tent (they were handing out small items), and in there tent was Doorway to Dreams sales people. You should have seen the line for people to sign up and get information. We were totally shocked- not sure why, but were. We stopped in there and one of the ladies asked if we had any questions, but then she noticed DH's hat he was wearing (it was a Kidani Village hat). We got a big "Welcome Home". It was great to hear that.
Just wanted to share:)

I remember living in the midwest and wishing around mid January that I could go on vacation to some warmer place. And then to have a family friendly, magical place like WDW? I'd be standing in line to get more information too.

Good thing there are lots of points for sell at AKV, BLT, SSR (THV) and VGC so those folks can join us. Of course, if they read the DISboards they know it would be cheaper to buy resale.;)

OT, but how crowded was it? Friends & I talked about going down but I wasn't in a mood to handle wall to wall people.

Thanks

Cyn

It was very crowded, but manageable. Our DS's are 10 & 8, so we didn't have a stroller. It looked like people with stroller's were struggling a bit. Now the parade, VERY, VERY crowded- very hard to move.
We were just surprised to see how much they were marketing DVC. Not only with the booth, but the radio disney people on the stage kept saying thanks to our sponsors, Doorway to Dreams and Disney Vacation Club.

We are fortunate enough to have the Doorway to Dreams store in Woodfield just fifteen minutes away. At least once a month we just drop in there to say hello...after all those visits, we know most of the CM's there, and they are a great assistance to a DVC fix. We were just there Saturday and finally warmed up enough to the BLT model to try and book a night there before a November DCL cruise if we are lucky enough to get a Magic Kingdom view at 7 months. Wood veneer, vinyl, chrome and pastel colors just leave me cold (we're Animal Kingdom/Wilderness Lodge/Treehouse kinds of folks) but the location tugs at us. Then there was the question...if we stayed there one night, would we be able to intentionally NOT see Wishes live in the park so we could watch it from the room with piped in music? Hmmm.
