A Market Basket is opening up next week and I went through the ad and the prices are great! My question is does anyone know if they take coupons?

I only shop at MB's. Their prices are by far the best. When we go camping or on vacation where this isn't one, I am horrified by the prices at other stores. Yes, they take coupons and I think they recently started taking internet coupons. Both my daughters work there. They are good to their employees.

Jenn - Too funny...I just got the flyer in the mail too and was thinking the same thing. Even though I'm a bit further away, it may be worth it to check it out. I'm thinking I like that roast for $1.69 a lb! Maybe I'll see you there!

Started packing yet? CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I drive a little bit further to shop at MB, their prices are SO much cheaper than other chains. And yes, they did start taking Internet coupons in the last few months!

It is not New bedford is it? I grew up shopping and working there and can't wait for that one to open. :yay:

MarketBasket is great for most things but sometimes Shaws or S&S has better deals when there are sales. But on an ongoing basis M&B is great for
Bakery -- their in-bakery is great
canned goods
Frozen foods, especially their brand of frozen veggies. Frozen meats (i.e. chicken fingers, meatballs are also good)
Packaged cheese and meat. Their laughing cows (which I love) aew $1.99 a package vs. 3.19 in Shaws.
Bread -- they always seem to have some kind of bread on sale.

The are not good buys for soda. CVS and Shaws are always cheaper.
Their meat is good, I still find you can get better deals at other places.
Product is good, they sometimes have good deals.
And the do take coupons.

The one near me is not nice and I just can't shop there. I'll occasinally drive 354 minutes to the other one but not very often.

Hey Heather!!
I am so excited for Market Basket! The prices look too good to be true! I sure hope this just isn't a "grand opening" special to lure us in! lOL
I've only heard good stuff about these stores though!
And no no packing yet! But I am on these boards so much now that we are getting closer! We fly out on the morning of the 10th this year how about you?

I love Market Basket.... HOWEVER..... so does everyone else! LOL! It's always crowded unless you get there very early in the day. You can't beat the prices on most things :) They do take coupons but they don't double them like the competitors around here do (ie. Shaw's and Stop and Shop) because their prices are already much better anyway. :thumbsup2

There are no MBs in Maine, but since I grew up on the NH border, we did all our grocery shopping at Market Basket. Now that I live far from NH, I miss shopping at Market Basket. My niece has been working at a Market Basket for the past 2 years or so and really likes it. She's in high school and they are really good about working with her around her school and sports schedules.

I like Market Basket. I don't get there very often since I moved to northern NH. Their sales also frequently match up with the coupons in the Sunday paper. I can remember making my list, then on Sunday morning I would pick up the paper, check for coupons that matched the sale items and then do my weekly shopping.

The Market Basket I still visit occasionally when I am in the southern part of the state does take internet coupons now but at one time they did not.

Hi Jenn: We leave on the morning of the 9th... out of Manchester this year. Rate was too good to pass up. We're doing the park/fly thing so I have a reservation at a hotel for the night before. Figured..it can't hurt to kick things off early, right?

EEYORESMOM: Hello fellow "Charltonite"! Had no idea you were in Charlton too...so am I. Gotta love the disboards! By the way...I got the flyer in the mail yesterday with the other supermarket ones.

Howdy neighbors :goodvibes

I too have been anxiously awaiting that stores opening :thumbsup2 Looked through the ad & I can see that I will be heading out that way to stock up (or have my dad pick it up for me ;)) I grew up in Oxford and we live in Auburn now:) but dad is still there and works at HD too! I've already warned him that I will be calling him with my orders to fill while he is on break

HUH...I didn't get any supermarket ads. And I live pretty close to the Oxford line

I'm not home right now but I have a phone # on my desk you can call to request an ad mailed to your home. When I get home I'll Pm you the #

Thank you, that would be great! Have fun on your February vacations this year, neighbors!
