Beach Club Villas

Today is the day we move from Saratoga Springs Resort to Beach Club Villas.

We are all sad to be leaving Saratoga Springs Resort but also excited to be going to a new resort. Also we feel we have done well to get the Beach Club Villas during the Food & Wine Festival.

We all can't believe how much stuff we have to pack up. It now occurs to me and Mark that we need to buy a another suitcase for all the extra stuff we seem to have accumulated. The forecast for tomorrow (tuesday 24th October) is for a record cold day (for October) we we plan on going to Florida Mall for a spot of traditional Orlando shopping and of course Kirsty's birthday present (we have still to buy) and now an extra suitcase! The plan is to be inside for the cold morning.

We have several trips to make to the van as we still have loads of alcohol and food, especially all that lovely cheese (Did I mention that Lisa and me love cheese  ) that we have bought as well as some of the goodies that Terry and Sara left behind. We even put the butter in the van! They are pushing us out of Saratoga and we arrive too early at Beach Club. There is an ugly moment at check in where I can't find my credit card. Luckily Lisa saves the day (and my heart) by rushing out to the car park and finding that Mark has it. Panic over and the castmember tells us to go away and enjoy ourselves and to check back later to see if we can check in.

We walk over to Epcot and do a really fast walk round world showcase as go the long way over to the "troll ride" as we call it. This is a first for Lisa and her family and it is enjoyed by everyone. We get a great photo with the big troll in the shop

We arrive at Mexico and get a photo with these:-

The rumour is that the Mexican ride is being done up especially with these characters in mind. (keep a watch on the rumours board).

It is still cloudy and as we feel fairly confident that "the butter" is holding its own in the van we go for lunch at the ESPN club. This is a great lunch and we get to be guests on the ESPN radio station. Mark asks a question about the grand prix and I ask for the football to be moved to a screen near our table. (Arsenal are playing Reading. It's not Barnet but you can't have everything!)

The weather has improved and we sit outside

It is truly beautiful here on the Boardwalk (Floridasun know what you mean about location, location, location!)

It is now really quite hot and we are starting to worry about the butter melting! Back to Beach Club Villas and we check in. There is a scary moment when a water like substance that we think is the butter turns out to just be the condensation off the once cold beers from the Saratoga fridge. (It turns out the butter is safe as has been stored with the frozen stuff thanks to a thoughtful Lisa) The villa is almost identical to Saratoga. We unpack and go off to Stormalong Bay.

This is apparently the biggest sand bottom hotel swimming pool in world (according to the castmember that checked us in) It does not appear that big at first glance but it is sure large and difficult to negotiate when not swimming (I am not keen on swimming, but the rest of my party are normal and love it!)

After finding a great spot for our sunbeds everyone goes down the pirate slide (except me). I manage to find the right spot (after getting told off by the lifeguard for sitting on a rock) to take a photo. This is the one I manage to get of Lisa. You can just make out her legs!

Kirsty and Megan love messing about on the sand

We relax back on our sunbeds and luckily we have on hand our own waiter (a big thank you to Maurice for getting the cocktails)

The sun goes down :sad1: and we go back to our room to change for the evening. This is the night that it gets cold and we put on our long trousers and long sleeves tops. We take a walk around our new "home"

We look for something to eat along the Boardwalk but as we have no ADRs for tonight everything is booked solid. It is getting late and we walk back to the villa. However we stop at the Yacht Club Galley restaurant. This is empty and burgers are on the menu. We have not had burgers for most of our stay and stop to eat here. This is the first time that Kirsty (now 13) has been forced to eat an adult meal but we are all having burgers so no problem.

Our burgers are great and the drinks are good too!

My kahula coffee comes out wrong but this is rectified back at our Villa when Lisa makes her wonderful Irish Coffees (can't wait to try these again at New Year when we are at Center Parcs!! when we all be reunited and be joined by Lisa's siser Michelle and her family and of course Terry and Sara)

We are amazed when we go back to the Villa for our by now ritual of Irish Coffee nightcap that we can see the Epcot fireworks from our balcony. We are amazed as it is around midnight???

A great day is had by all and we love the Beach Club Villas (personally not as much as Saratoga but great for the few days we have planned)
