Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

I don't think you screwed up too bad. I'm sure that one hush puppy isn't going to do that much damage. And all that working out surely got rid of the calories!

Keep it up! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I third or fourth that opinion! I know that you are trying to stay completely on track, but one or two minor mistakes won't derail everything!

You are doing AWESOME! Your exercise is totally kick butt, too! :cool1:

Keep up the good work and don't be so hard on yourself!

Hey guys....thanks again for the support! I was really bummed yesterday....and even into today. Don't really know why...I don't think I said 2 words to anyone at work until around 2pm.....just not in the mood. :confused3 Is there such a thing as Pre-PMS? Moody....sore breasts...???
(sorry...tmi)
Kim saved me last night....thanks friend!!! I was making milkshakes for the kids and I really wanted one....she (on IM) said don't you dare!!! Kinda scared me....like she was really there watching me....:cool2: , so I didn't. Glad I didn't too!!
Ok...so the project list is growing here at the house. DH & I are DEFINATELY going to scrape DD ceiling BY Saturday night. The painter/ceiling guy is coming Saturday to give a quote and most likely will start early next week on my painting/ceiling projects! Even if we don't move, I still have to have my house in order. I'm also going to have DH measure so I can go get the trim & shoe molding for the rooms that the tile was installed in. I have alot of work to do, and I REALLY want to try to have it done by the end of February....hopefully I'll have the $$$ to be able to accomplish them. After all the painting and ceilings are done.....then's it's trim & carpet. Man, I'm tired just thinking about it. I also have a couple of photo shoots later this month. I told photog boss to limit my schedule....he's not happy about it, but oh well.

Ok...gotta go Google and find a Science Fair project for DS....anyone have any ideas....feel free to send them my way!! 5th grade level.

I'll post my food and exercise in a little bit!
later taters!
marie

Boy am I glad I was online last night!!! :thumbsup2 You don't want to throw away all your hard work over a silly milkshake, right? That milkshake will taste 10 times as good when you've lost 20 pounds!!! :goodvibes

You're doing great...and sorry I can't help ya with the 5th grade stuff. But be sure to remember what you did so I can ask you in 3 more years. :rotfl:

Yeah, I've been GOOGLING for the last few hours....I think I have it narrowed down to 3. He can pick from there. If I ask him, he'll say, LET'S MAKE A VOLCANO!! How is making a volcano a science project?
anyway..... food today -
B-breakfast scramble :thumbsup2
s-none
L-Jenny's Personal Pizza-:thumbsup2
s-none
D-Turkey Chili-:thumbsup2 -amazingly good...thought it would be like the Alpo like last night
s-later tonight-Lemon cake....sounds good!
Water-62 oz - no diet sunkist...afriad the sodium might be too high...gonna have to ask about that.
Exercise-none...skipped tonight. DH just got home from work ::cop: Had some last minute bad guys to take care of!

Kim-after I poured the kids their shakes, there was still about a glassfull left in the blender. NORMALLY that would have been mine....I poured it in a glass and gave it to DH. He drank 1/2 of it, he's on a diet too....portion control!! That was REALLY hard for me! I feel like I'm WANTING to drift a little bit...you know...a hershey mini here, a milkshake there...one bite...one small glass....one large, greasy burger....my willpower is a little weak...but I will overcome it. I have to. You guys will make sure of it!!
I'm really glad tomorrow is Friday! Just tired of being around people too. Man, I must be PMSing!!!

nite nite
marie

Hi Marie,

You are doing a wonderful job! Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

That is great that you passed on the milkshake... Good for you!:goodvibes

As for fifth grade science projects.... I taught fifth grade a few years ago and we had some great projects! The one that stands out in my mind was a student compared all kinds of houshold products and wanted to prove that generic cleaning products were as good as brand name. It was very elaborate and the student (who didn't like school at all) was totally into the project. We had our share of volcanoes and electrical circuits too. ;) I'll have to ask my dad if he remembers more of the projects because he was a judge.

I hope you have a great weekend!:goodvibes

Don't forget Marie, that little taste of this, little bit of that is how you got into this situation to begin with! It is so hard to overpower your brain when it gets into that "screw it, I just WANT it" mode, but you did great!!!

I can't believe they just gave the vague assignment of "do a science project" without any guidance! I guess it will prompt some creativity, huh?

You are doing awesome, can't wait to see your weigh-in on Mon! Do you feel like you are still making progress (loose clothes, etc)?

I am SO proud of you and your willpower. You are a woman on a mission. YES, we all have cravings...who doesn't? :confused3 But you're not dwelling on them. You're moving past them.

I think I like that you're not posting what you resisted everyday because I think that only makes you/us/anyone dwell on what we DIDN'T have instead of the great way we DID eat, you know? You're rockin this thing woman! :cool2:

Your willpower is stronger than you are giving yourself credit for. AMAZING job with the milkshake and you should really be proud of yourself. :thumbsup2

I think it was Amy (Amy&Dan) that posted about BLT's (bites, licks, tastes) that was really on point - it all adds up. I definitely need to remember that.!

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I know the bite here, nibble there is, no, WAS a problem in the past. The great thing is is that I'm not nibbling or sneaking. I'M RESISTING!! I DO HAVE WILLPOWER!!! :cheer2: :yay:
Today for lunch the ENTIRE office ordered greasy burgers from the ice-cream shop down the street. I made sure that when they left to pick it up, I heated up my lunch, ate it, and then when they got back I left for my lunch hour!! Pretty smart I thought!!! And the really cool part....THEY WERE ALL MISERABLE W/ HEARTBURN ALL AFTERNOON!!!
I knew I wouldn't be tempted to bum a bite, but I also didn't want to be around the smell. They also had onion rings....big ones....:sad2:
OHOHOHOHOHOHOH,...get this!!!! I get to work this morning...I'm a little bummed cuz my b-fast was supposed to be cereal (jc of course) but I was out of milk at home. So, I get to work and they are all whining that they are hungry....they want donuts!!! I lauged and said ok...pitch in the money and I'll go get them...that way I can get my milk and eat my cereal! They thought I was joking!!! :confused3 I said "Hey, I'm stronger than that!" So, I went and got them their donuts and my milk and we all had breakfast!!! One woman "B" said that there was no way she could've done that!! I told her, "it's really not hard, you walk up to the counter and say "I'd like a mixed dozen donuts and a 2% milk please...then you pay and leave!" Pretty funny!!

Ok...so food today-
B-Complete Start Cereal:goodvibes
S-Anytime bar
L-Rotini w/ meatballs ;)
S-Chocolate Chip Bites
D-Fish & Chips :thumbsup2
Water-60 oz, diet sunkist 12 oz
Exercise - are ya ready for this???? 3 mile powerwalk w/ dh, then we both went to the garage/gym and did 30 minutes of weights!!! It was AWESOME!!! so....75 min workout ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!!!! (man, I have no life!)

TSD-Anything you can give me on the science fair is greatly appreciated. I like the idea of the cleaners..might actually work in getting my house cleaned up. Another one I was thinking about was something about the Coca-Cola myths. I'll pm you and see what you think...from a teachers perspective.:teacher:

Thanks Anna&Amy for the "atta-girl"....it is really appreciated!! :cheer2:
Kim....well, you know where you stand!!

Weigh in is TOMORROW at 8:20 am. I don't really feel like I've lost very much. Clothes aren't really loose yet. I'm a little nervous. I couldn't do it on monday's....to far across town and with traffic....:headache: So this week is a 5 day weigh in. Like I said, I'm nervous, but I"m not gonna dwell on it. (I still think TOM is closer than I think...:confused3 )

Ok...I gotta go shower....and start preping for DD room scraping party tomorrow!!! :woohoo:
Have a great evening ya'll...and a great weekend!!!

marie

Marie,

I am so proud of you! You are doing a wonderful job! Resisting burgers and donuts?!?!? That is wonderful, my friend!:goodvibes

How did weigh-in go this morning?:wizard: Hope it went well for you!:goodvibes

I looked through some of my notes last night from the science fairs.... There is a series of science experiment books out there by Janice VanCleave.... They are for grades 2-7 and have some fun and creative experiments in them. When you have time, maybe you can check them out at the library and see if there are any that your DS might like. Please feel free to PM me at any time.... I will be more than happy to help you if I can!:goodvibes

Hope you have a great weekend!:thumbsup2

Thanks TSD...I'm gonna look into that book!

Weigh in this morning wasn't as good as I had hoped.
-1 1/2 pounds 162.5
I was hoping for a 2-3 lbs los, but I'll take what I can get. I also had to figure that it was a 5 day week instead of a 7 day. Hopefully next week will be better. "P" my counselor, said I was losing an average of 3.3 per week. She also said the first week was water, the second week is fat....hope she's right about that!

Ok....I really am not in a good mood today. Got into it w/ DH just a few minutes ago...He's gonna scape ceilings, I'll clean house...don't think we need to be around each other right now...at least not w/ sharp objects.

I'll check in later.
marie

I don't think 1.5lbs in 5 days is anything to be disappointed at! Remember, 1-2lbs per week is ideal and I bet if you would have weighed on Mon, it would have been a 2lbs loss. And you are probably building some muscle since you are working out harder than I've ever known you to!

Keep it up and be proud of your accomplishments so far. The weight didn't come on overnight and it will take time to get it off. You'll get to your goal eventually, I know you can do it!

Today was a BUSY day....tomorrow will be too.

Ok...food for today
B-Cranberry almond cereal :)
L-Cheesy Enchilada :thumbsup2
S-Chocolate chip snack bar :thumbsup2
D-Salsbury Steak :confused3
Water-36 oz
Exercise-2 mile walk/run - 30 minutes - I ran the last 1/2 in 5 minutes. Felt great too!! I took a stopwatch with us today...I was amazed at the pace!

So, today DH scraped DD ceiling today while I cleaned the rest of the house. We finally both sat down around 3. :sad2:
The guy helping/doing the ceilings & painting and some other projects will be here at 9:30 tomorrow to get started on the spare bathroom, and then monday he's going to do DD's room. I'm so excited that it's getting done, and so soon too!!!

Ok...so DH and I are watching The Devil Wears Prada.
I'll try to check in tomorrow...gonna be a busy one....

marie

:thumbsup2 Awesome, AWESOME job, lady. Especially with the donuts!!! OMG!! You are in that zone and it's a wonderful thing!

Please don't be disappointed with your weigh-in. You had a great loss for 5 days! When do you weigh in again? Will it be next Saturday? Just wait....you'll have another good one!! :cheer2:

Have a great weekend with all of your fun home projects going on!

You are doing awesome with your exercising! At this rate you will blast through your original goal, keep it up!

Just think of how nice the house will look with all the ceilings fixes. Little things like that really make a big difference!

Hi Marie,

How is the house coming along? It sounds like a lot got done this weekend.:goodvibes

Great job on the food and exercise! Keep it up!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful week ahead!:cool1:

TOM hit this morning....and is kicking the crap out of me! (tmi-sorry)

b-jc blueberry muffin
s-jc cheese curls
l-jc potato soup :thumbsup2
s-1 mini kit kat :guilty:
d-small salad (was supposed to be chicken alfredo...just wasn't hungry)
water- 32 oz, 8 oz diet sunkist
exercise-does curling up on the couch w/ a blanket count? :headache:

I really, REALLY could have blown it today. This time of month I'm really weak for sweets. I felt like crap all day, didn't really feel like eating at all....was more in the mood to snack all day, but I didn't...I'm really amazed that I didn't. I'll stay the course...but this week is gonna be tough.

The "projects" are coming along nicely. DD room is completely painted..very nice..all he needs to do in there is the ceiling paint...there was a little patchwork to be done..(DH put his foot almost through the ceiling from the attic a few years ago...that patch job sucked!!) The trim & shoe molding is in in the spare bath....thank god!!! he has one more coat on the walls, then the ceiling in there will be painted. I think he's got about 2-3 more days...
Then we're gonna talk about the price on doing the hallway, entryway, and DS room.

Gunner (my dog) even knows i don't feel good...I was laying down earlier and he came up and put his cold, wet nose on my forehead...now he's laying down next to me...keeping my feet warm. I love my dog!

ok...see ya tomorrow.
marie

Great job not going off the deep end with sweets! I think 1 mini Kit Kat pales in comparison to the damage you could have done!

TOM will be gone before you know it, and you'll get to feeling better soon. pixiedust: Hang in there!
